Teen Slam Caught on Cam, Ukraine's Comedian President, PewDiePie Youtube Ban, & Sri Lanka Joseph G: Eh I see how the video can look brutal, BUT we have to put our own selves in that situation. We are an officer who's intent is to prevent any throw down between these children at a place in which they were already trespassing. So now our job becomes to remove the suspects from the property. A suspect than after resisting is being arrested and now drops his phone to the ground and another associate (the kid in the video) disobeys the officers orders to step away from the scene. He refuses with intent to resist and begins to clench his fist which indicates he may be ready to get violent. At this point in time the officer is trying to deal with multiple arrests while having a suspect ready to get violent also not to mention he is surrounded by fellow children in which he has no idea their own intent. So in attempt to not get hurt and go ahead and make the arrest he knocks down the kid and pepper sprays him. This may seem excessive, but in no way did this kid seem like he was going to throw in the towel and give into the arrest. The officer asserted dominance took over the situation and began to hit the kids head into the concrete. I'm unsure if this was out of intent to get the kid to stop resisting or out of anger from the heat of the moment. Either way it doesn't seem warranted. Both seem to be in a wrong position, but the officer is stuck in this situation as it is his job while this kid is just surrounding himself in trouble. The kid purposefully put himself in an ignorant situation and this may be a lesson learned as he has seen that not everyone is going to take a hit. But what do you guys think. This is just my overall and hopefully in depth analysis.

In my entire education, in the '60s, 70s I never saw police arresting or fighting with students. Of course, it did happen, but it was a rare event, yet this school has cops visiting on a regular basis. Hmmm. Schools rely on funding, the students had better stop supporting negativity. When cops come to a scene of an incident, stay back and film them. If your approaching cops, crowding them, making racist remarks, trying to intimidate them, your inviting trouble. And don't pick up someone's property without a prior conversation with the involved parties. I'm not taking sides, just applying some common sense to incidents like this. And please let's not play the race card. One kid was a trouble maker who was not allowed to be on the property. Why? To protect your children and to send a strong message, don't come to school to cause trouble. Schools have enough problems, they don't have the resources to babysit thugs.

The moment they pinned the kid violence was no longer needed. He was down and pinned by multiple officers all of which were older and likely heavier than him. The punch to the head seals it, that is not a distraction. The target and force applied shows intent to harm, not restrain. Punches to the head can be serious, resulting in concussions or much worse. Add to that the fact that he is teenager with a brain still developing and in the middle of a long and crucial phase adds to the danger he put the kid in. I dont care what that kid said or did. They have responsibility as police to show restraint and discipline, to not cross the line, to protect the people, this kid is still part of the people even in this scenario. They over stepped, period. Doesnt matter how many kids were there. If they were seen as a real threat then the police should have called for reinforcement before moving in. That's also on them.

looking at the video i have to say i understand why the police felt threatened. they were surrounded by a very loud group of people who are clearly not on your side. The police have a very us vs them mentality which is not helped when they become the targets of what can be seen as witch hunts for their fellow officers. where every time an officer goes out people look at them with hate and distrust. Hell everyone knows the song F the police. They are told everyday that someone is coming for them, so when surrounded by a large, loud, and probably very angry group of people it is understandable that they wont be thinking as clear as possible and instead thing base brain show of force to get everyone to back away and get some breathing room. Was it right. no. is it understandable. yes. i say some penalties but not as extreme as losing the job entirely.

There's a new oil refinery deal that is supposed to finalize this year in Sri Lanka. (Reuters) - An agreement to build a proposed 3. 85 billion oil refinery in Sri Lanka will take at least a year to be finalized as its main investor, Indias Accord Group, says it is yet to recruit partners and conduct an assessment of the plans viability. The comments add to confusion about the project, which was announced last week by the Sri Lankan government as the nations largest single foreign direct investment ever, but has since been the subject of conflicting statements by various parties. The Terrorist group mentioned is said to be too small and they suspect a larger global network's involvement, Also NTJ has not admitted involvement yet which is weird for a small group of sociopaths. Something smells weird about this one to me.

Officers are claiming left and right that they 'feared for their safety' as if that's an excuse to lose your cool and become violent. Where was the attempt at deescalation? There was literally 3 seconds between the guy picking up the phone and then being pepper sprayed. For what? Because for all of a second he MIGHT have shown some typical teen attitude in his body language? I assume Phil would have said if the officer claimed the teen made any threats. Then he's thrown to the ground. for no reason. His head smashed into the ground at least twice for no reason. And when he tries to protect his face by putting his arm underneath his head, he gets punched for daring to defend himself from another possibly lethal slamming. If someone slammed my head into concrete I'd be afraid I was about to die.

The entire situation involving the kid and cop is on video and Im surprised Phil didnt show it(but this is the 1st vid of the week Im watching, so he could have addressed it later. As the kid is getting the phone, the cop walks over to him and shoved his head while he was bent over. The kid then get pissed says something to the officer, and before he even finishes the sentence is pepper sprayed. So, the cop littered started the entire thing, the kid wasnt trying to sneak/steal the phone nor ran up to the cop, he simply picked up the phone and got shoved for no reason. Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut but if i had someone push me in the head, theres a chance Id say something smart too

We all know that the police are not going to be held responsible for the assault on the teen. Cops are liars and bullies. Where is it ever OK for a grown ass man to punch a teenager in the face and them sit on his back and slam the teen's face in the ground repeatedly? Oh wait yeah I know the cop's life was in danger. I remember now. As long as the cop feels like their life is in danger then they are allowed to do whatever they want to the suspect. The police in the United States are out of control. They are never held responsible for their actions. It is disgusting and only getting worse.

I see nothing wrong with the police, the boy shouldn't grab someone else's phone even if it fell to the ground and belonged to the kid being arrested, even if he knew the kid that owned the phone. The officers aren't mind readers and know everything about everyone there. To the officer it could appear to be someone attempting to steal the kids property. If it doesn't involve you don't insert yourself into the fire. Odd that someone not involved in why the police were arresting someone is abused but not the person they were arresting, it's like someone wanted to make it about them.

If the police knew this stuff happened and felt so outnumbered that they couldnt talk a kid down, they should of had back up. If they felt they couldnt talk a kid down, they should be given or pursue training so that they can. If they felt somebody could of grabbed their gun, they should of left it in the car. Most people especially kids wont attack cops because of how serious the ramifications are. I get being worried, but when there were zero steps taken toward peace and civility, then it is, at the very least, their negligence that led to another kid slammed and handcuffed.
