I've had panic attacks and it's awful. Once I was really stressed and then there was like 3 people telling me to do something at the same time and it felt like they were in my face and cornering me and waving in my face even though they probably actually weren't in my face. I remember being able to tell they were trying to tell me something but not being able to understand or hear what they were saying, as if they were speaking a different language and then as if I went deaf. When they were moving it was as if they were moving in slow motion and sped up at the same time as if multiple clips and recordings were being played over each other and as if I was watching them through a camera that was tilting around, about to fall over. I looked around trying to understand what was going on and only managed to whisper what? before I couldn't breathe and it was as if I had teleported, because I was suddenly a few feet away from where I originally was and someone was holding my arms. I didn't feel like I heard anyone, but I could still understand part of what people were saying, someone said what's happening? and the person holding my arms said having panic attack (he probably said she's having a panic attack, I could only understand having panic attack though) I remember thinking, oh that's right, I'm having a panic attack. everything felt so chaotic but that thought was so nonchalant, it was so strange. Someone moved me to a different area where there was less people and it didn't feel like I was being walked somewhere, it felt like I was being teleported multiple times. I don't remember actually walking there, just being in certain areas for a few seconds. Someone helped me get my breathing under control and then asked me about some of my favorite things so it would distract me and I wouldn't go back into a panic attack because I almost did. That was the worst panic attack I've ever had, it was awful, I'm so grateful that there was someone to help me with it.

I recall when the time that I get this not-so-severe panic attack for like 30 minutes or so when my father was scolding me, my fam and I were in a car heading to a mall, I can't breath, I kept on crying, thoughts of dying, my hands were numb and so is my legs, I'm trembling and I recall asking for a knife to myself, I recall the urge to cut myself again that time while messing my hair, the worst part is that while I'm having a panic attack/anxiety attack, whatever that is, I still can't distinguish what's what, please enlighten me up lol, my father just continue on scolding me, doing nothing, then the next day me and my girl cousin was walking, roaming inside our village at night, btw she was with us in our car when that happened, it's embarrassing but she's kinda aware of my mental health issues, we were talking about the incident yesterday, supposed that today was the day when we were strolling in our village, so she told me that It's normal not to breath normally if you're crying
Girl I swear, because of my fckd up system, I wanted to shout at her and explain that I know the difference between the feeling when you can't breathe properly because your, well, nose are clogged because of crying and unable to breath because of some attacks, then weeks later I got the same attacks, still can't breath the same way I did in the car, note that I didn't cry that much and shitty thoughts starts to cloud my mind and tadda! It feels like I'm being choked, cause I can't fckn breath, it also happened the next day too, btw: )

i dont think ive ever had a true panic attack outside of times where ive been sick (i have severe emetophobia) and being sick is bad enough but having a panic attack while its happening literally makes me feel like im dying. i remember a specific time when i felt like my throat closed and i couldnt breathe no matter how hard i tried and i ran out of the bathroom saying that i couldnt breathe and my dad had to comfort me. looking back on it, it was just so embarrassing.
other than those panic attacks i just have constant anxiety. i get anxiety at the thought of eating, if it goes away and i eat then i get anxiety afterwards. it comes and goes in cycles and it always causes issues with my stomach which triggers my emetophobia, which makes it all 10x worse. it lasts for days to weeks at a time and recently its just been constant. i barely eat, i cant focus on anything anymore. i cant leave my house, my hygiene is terrible. i just spend all my time trying to distract myself from the sensation of anxiety, but it never actually goes away completely. i dont know if this anxiety is a manifestation of my emetophobia but all i know is none of this was an issue in my life until my emetophobia developed 1 year ago due to a traumatic experience i had while ill. i havent tried therapy. im just so miserable all the time and my family doesnt understand

So for me, I have GAD, social anxiety, and mild to severe depression. Along with that I have IBS D which can be triggered by my anxiety so once my anxiety gets bad then my stomach gets bad and when my stomach gets bad my anxiety gets worse. It's a vicious cycle for me that ended up limiting myself in terms of wanting to travel, work, school and just being normal in general. it's no joke and legitimately I have a fear of having a bathroom accident in public or not being able to find a bathroom in time when I need one and that's primarily where my anxiety comes from ( not to mention I was a very isolated child growing up so I never felt comfortable around people. I have gotten help and am medicated and I usually take Immodium everyday for my IBS D and things. Lately, I have been having panic attacks every morning for the past 2 wks and it's been the worst that I have experienced yet and I am only slowly starting to recover and am going back to my former self but no matter how many times I have these massive attacks it feels like a piece of myself dies with every reoccurring instance.

Okay so I think I had a panic attack last night, its never happened before, Im a little shook up from it. I was reading a book on my bed the character was talking about killing and death, hes possessed by a god that gives him powers. But there was one line that just gave me a weird weird feeling, like I was slipping from my body and I kept thinking about murder and death and dying and my parents. I tried to distract myself with a movie and it worked for a bit but then when I laid down to sleep I kept wiggling around the feeling of slipping was back, so I went to my parents room and laid down between them. I started crying and shaking uncontrollably my heart was hammering dude its never gone that quick it was like a hummingbird in my chest, I had nausea and I felt like something was stuck on my throat. I felt like I was dying that if I calm down and let go Id die, my parents did help. I held onto them and they chatted with me about other things to get me calmed It eventually did pass and I fell asleep, should i go to the doctor? I still feel kinda strange

I just had a panic attack so I'll describe how it feels because I feel really disoriented
First of all, it can be a thing you physically saw heard, or imagined for me it was something I heard ( my exam. I felt like the air was getting sucked into the center of my chest and I couldn't feel my legs or hands, I tried to move my eyes, hands, or legs but they felt feverish and weak and they kept trembling. I couldn't think straight and that's when I knew something was wrong, I got a light headache and sharp small pains here and there in my body, I couldn't tell if this feeling was dying down or getting worse. It's like you're trapped in an endless cycle of worrying and avoiding the reason, anything I heard was annoying and disoriented but I could hear everything clearly. It was just weird, this was my first panic attack so I'm scared. Am I sick?

Umm. What about having them both? I'm not going to jump to conclusions before I talk to a medical professional, but I feel I have both conditions that manifest separately. Sometimes my panic is sudden amd when i break out of it, I feel horrible for a few hours. Other times, it creeps up and I'm an emotional basket case all day. I don't like that I'm frustrated and sad recently and I've never struggled with attention before, despite having had chronic depression for years and anxiety running in the family. I was hoping this video would being me clarification on which I might have, but I feel I experience the symptoms of both fairly regularly. I feel even more screwed now, which is impressive.

- ringing
-sweating but also freezing
-body felt numb
- blurred vision

What sucked was i wasnt even home. I was at my dermatologist waiting for her to walk in and it came out of no where. I was super nervous when i started hearing the ringing BC i just knew what was about to happen. I just say there letting it pass but freaking out so bad inside. Also its so funny bc Ive passed out from a panic attack before and i was so sure i was going to pass out and my dermatologist was going to walk in on me on the floor but Im okay

I don't know why, but everytime my mom tells me that we have to leave the house (warning out of nowhere without a plan like hey Alice, let's go for a walk or daughter I'm sorry to warn you this late but you have an appointment with a ) i start breathing heavily, even if is something I like and want to do, i start shaking, crying, having headaches and hyperventilating, my mom doesn't understand and says daughter you don't need to be worried but I don't even know why I'm worried. This might be anxiety or not, unfortunately I can't go to a specialist rn, but once I got the chance I'm going: )

Chronic anxiety sufferer here.
My mid panic attack thought of the day: I wish I could feel the normal kind of nervous like other people do, instead of feeling like I'm about to die.
GRAPHIC: All of my insides have cramped and my bowels are going bananas. Bleeding out of literally every hole because of endometriosis, rectum tearing from fissures, and either kidney stones or scar tissue along my urinary tract. Nauseous. Sweating. Fingers and feet numb, tremors, headache.
But it's all fading away now. I somehow beat it again.

Can you help?
I don't know it's panic attack or anything but what happening with me is that suddenly fear comes into my mind, my heart side pains and it looks like that my chest becomes heavy. It happens for 5 to 10 mins and I am in utter confusion. Sometime, short of breath and sudden fear from inside. Yesterday, I had this kind of attack more than 6 time. Today it happened for 15 mins and Happened 4-6 times. I have lost my interest in everything, lost motivation to live and also lost my Appetite

I always feel that something bothers me in my chest for the rest of the day. I feel fear inside me without knowing the reason, it is very intense where I have cried in front of my parents when I was little, but my parents never listened to me and told me that everything is in my mind. Of course this continues. at first it starts with anxiety and then it ends with fear. I don't know what to do, it bothers me enough to enjoy my life, my parents don't listen to me and I guess I just have to fight it. :/

Well crap, the end of #2 basically told me I have more mild panic attacks than anxiety attacks. Just tried the holding ice trick and it helped. Always told myself it was nothing and I was making this all up in my head. Thx, it's nice to know that this is real and to know exactly what it is. One question: can one have an anxiety disorder and still have panic attacks, would they kind of cancel each other out? Any tips on helping recognize panic attacks and copping tools would be helpful!

I cant stand having panic attacks.
I have panic attacks at times even though I take medications for it.
I feel chest pains and shortness of breath.
I sometimes collapse.
I cry and shake uncontrollably.
I end up choking.
I have difficulty breathing
The embarrassing part of me when I have a panic attack is the fact that I have completely peed on myself and I didnt even realize it because I was so numb. Its embarrassing when I suffer a panic attack at work.

Most people focus on social anxiety but thats not me, I love people and making friends and talking to anyone whos willing to have a conversation. Instead I have fits of crying, my thoughts all mushed in my head. Regrets and fears and reminders of responsibilities mush in my brain and it feels like Im banging on doors but theyre all locked so all I can do is lay there. I can normally tell that its going to happen if a trigger happens that day or something sudden that is worrying.

For me, it's fairly specific triggers and the physical symptoms I get when I have a real panic attack are.
-hyperventilating
-my heart is pounding
- my arms, legs, and especially my hands get that tingly feeling when they fall asleep.
- And I just start shaking a lot
This is along with all the usual dread, fear, repressed unhealed trauma, memories, and the feeling that I'm trapped in my own head while my thoughts fly chaotic around me and I can't stop it.

I am not too shy. I do well with people but I can't control my emotions. I had such attacks when I was wronged for something I didn't do and also when my dog died. My heart started beating rapidly and I couldn't breathe well ( rapid heavy breathing) n my chest started hurting. Then my body felt weak and my legs and hands went numb, especially my left hand. It lasted for around 10 minutes. It happens when I get too upset. What is it? Anxiety or panic attack?

I just had the worst panic attack at school. It crept up on me out of nowhere, and it was awful. I couldnt write with my pen, and I had to hold myself in a hug and hold my breath for one minute at a time out of a fear I would start CONVULSING on the floor (I have adhd so I fidget a lot) and I was rolling around on the floor trying to muffle my screams so no one could hear me. I kept on shaking for the next hour. It was the worst one Ive ever experienced.

This was really helpful. I experience both panic and anxiety attacks regularly. Its to the point where Ive developed SH coping mechanisms. Ive been told that Im just over dramatic, sensitive, or just not taught something at an early age. Im also autistic so differentiating between a panic attack, anxiety attack, a meltdown, and a shutdown, is very helpful when needing to communicate my needs and find solutions to help me get better
