HSP, Highly Sensitive Person.
Yes I am.
I am Spectrum Autistic also.
Very observant, and punk'ed often.
My life's mistakes have shrank in time.
I am now a kind turtle, with a wide range of select kindness.
The social order and relationship interactions have always been a
stumbling point. Seemingly correct, direct approaches have never worked.
I have become a form of magician
In my life's path. Moving towards any objective has been a loosing battle, due to constant flack in any focused course.
I now figuratively wave my left hand, to distract, as I grab with my right.
Psych2go has been a wonderful middle ground education, once I reviewed the RED PILL, and female directed, high pressure, to end in a LTR.
Because of society's female bias in matters of divorce resolution, the 50%+ rate of divorce, and the implied requirement of woman trading up in society, while men trade down, the end is unavoidable.
Men receive short term beauty & woman get possibly a lifetime of elevated lifestyle.
I receive endless offers from large ladies with kid(s.
As much as I see a LTR in my parallel universe life, (dreams, I pull back to reality, where beauty is skin deep, and fading, while ugly is for ever.
The LGBTQ people often have no children to worry about, so enjoy life with more unburdened assets, (cash.
LTR or a peaceful solitary life.
Seems like a no-brainer.
I was married once and had one daughter. I speak of solitude, having experienced many of life's pain and joys.
I travel happily through my parallel world, when I dream. It is painless.
I wish for a LTR but am to slow for all the female foxes. I stroke their necks, and speak kind words.
I am a fool.
I wish no harm, & no foul.
I feel no fear of commitment.
I just wave my left hand, as I remove anchors placed about me with my right hand.
I am a HSP Spectral Autistic person.

For a very long time, I've considered myself a superhero (back then I didn't know the term for it was HSP. I called myself a superhero because I had this power to locate people's physical sore spots, their emotional sore spots and I would even learn the concept behind objects and theories pretty magically once I tune myself to it. So there was always this invisible power.
Now, in my 20s, when the world seems to be getting around faster, I started feeling like my HSP qualities are holding me back.
1) I sleep a lot because my brain demands to be at rest.
2) I never take impulsive decisions which slows down my decision making.
3) If I'm in a room with people who are having heavy emotions, I immediately tune into their minds and then my body is just working on auto pilot mode while my mind is thinking about them and their reactions or thoughts.
So, I have decided to work on these things and turn them into a favourable direction.
The good help from being an HSP is that, I'm very self aware. I know my state of my mind and the why and the how.
So, it's like, I know the Bull, I just need to learn to control it and ride it to become the powerful person that I can be.

I always find someone who says you are too sensitive or you are too intense. Even my family. So I grew up thinking there was something wrong with me being sensitive or too deep. It took me 40 years to understand that there is nothing wrong. We just have to work our too deep for a healthier life. But I think an HSP never changes. We just know how to live this way. So the best thing an HSP can do is get as much information as we can and work on it. I actually learned how to say no. How to put myself first in some situations. It's a hard job but not impossible. It's all about creating habits.
I love the HSP videos you post. They make me understand me better. Thank you!

At the age of 32 it's nice to finally get some idea what I might have been since I was a child. I have always struggled with my emotions and wondered why I developed such a bad deppression and anxiety from bullying, because to be fair many suffer way worse than I did. But it just stopped my life from happening and I have been so afraid of everything.
Now I have been in therapy for 2 years and finally starting to get on my feet and have started to live bit by bit. And it feels pretty good now
I don't know why I felt the urge to comment, but if someone sees this I hope it gives you something. You can survive anything

Well, I think some of this fights against a person who is also very logical. I know that I don't just judge or hate on someone for what they did without also looking at the reasoning behind it. I just can't blindly side against someone, even if they are a friend.
I always look at the facts of the situation & I don't blindly side with those close to me. I am this way despite being someone who wears my heart on my sleeve as I am also very logical about things.
I honestly can't stand when ppl blindly side with someone close to them even if they are at fault. One has to look at the facts & be logical & honest.

i recently found out im an HSP due to my therapist, ive always expressed my emotions VERY strongly and it often put others on the spot, some of my childhood friends frankly started to hate me because of it luckily now im more aware of my emotions and im a lot more accepting of them, my therapist told me that feeling emotions is completely natural and nothing to be ashamed of. what she said really spoke to me to be honest, so i wanna share that; theres nothing wrong with expressing how you feel, it just goes to show that youre a human capable of having empathy.

Oh my God! I relate to point two: if there is something negative, I have to talk about it to someone because I want to be happy again! I am also good at reading people and when my family, friends or loved ones or my pet cat are sad, I'm also sad! I struggle when humans, animals or plants have to struggle When I hate someone, I hate them with a burning passion but when I love someone, I am very committed! Stories or parts in movies make me cry! One one hand I am a very confident person but on the other hand I am easy to break because I want to help other people

I used to think that having strong emotions meant sobbing over films, books or cute rescue dogs. So I thought I wasn't an HSP. My feelings are strong and sometimes overwhelming, but they tend to develop slowly and manifest themselves in indirect ways. On the other hand, a person who is not particularly sensitive, might cry their eyes out whenever they see something touching. That doesn't make them highly sensitive. It just means they are easily and quickly moved.

I think I am a HSP - not sure yet but I can relate to most ot these points. Anyway, I wanted to ask something. I lost my brother and my aunt to a very violent car accident in April and the trauma of having had to go identify their bodies had me losing my mind and the grief was intense. a friend recently said I stay too long in grief and this video says we let grief linger longer than it should. what does that mean? Because, to me, the pain of this loss is real.

Oh man, the number of times I've been called sensitive. I rarely get insulted or berated, but when I do, it was ALWAYS this. Sensitive for crying, sensitive for getting angry, sensitive for this, that, everything. Maybe that all accumulated, but now I don't hear it. Why? Because I've effectively concealed this version of me. He's deep inside my heart; waiting for the right time when no one will judge us for who we are. A highly sensitive person: .

Do you think that one can be both an entj and a hsp? I feel like i have 2 personalities that i live with every single day. One hour i am extremely loving and i feel the details that i see throughout my day deeply to the heart, i just want to be nice to everyone. An hour later, im just in to get work done, i become a bit mean to people because i want to be practical and end up apologizing in the end. How do i sort all of this out?

I relate to all of these as an HSP Empath. I didnt think the last one would be on the list, but that is so me. As someone who went through childhood trauma, I will never forgive the ones who brought pain into my life. I hate them with a passion. As an adult I detest injustices of any kind especially when it involves children. I see that as my superpower. Being able to feel so much is my superpower but also my curse.

Something i tend to explain to my parents is that:
Normal people, when facing negative emotion, they have a certain capacity they could take before bursting into tears.
But for me. If any type of negative emotion, even discomfort, feels like i am pouring water on a flat plate. The water spills instantly. Meaning my tears fall down faster than i could realize. And I don't know why.
Hope that made sense

I think HSP describes me pretty well, but I do make decisions quickly and spontaneously. But my decisions are usually good, so that; 's a learned behaviour. I'd also add that I think it's normal for HSP to take many years to understand that most people don't think the same way, and until you realize that it can be a bit of a struggle dealing with people who are oblivious to things that seem obvious to a HSP.

I noticed most emotions are stimulated by humans. If you delete the people from your existence, emotion almost entirely disappear. I know this from experience. Fear, heavy disappointment, sadness, was almost all I felt when around humans. Now, I feel nothing. Feeling nothing is far better than what I used to feel. As far as reading people, I can not do that.

Gosh yes. especially the last one. I do hate as much as I love. And if you hurt me deeply, I'll never think of you the same, ever. Completely shut out. Psych2go, thanks for validating us. especially when some of us have been invalidated about how we feel and perceive the world. I felt ashamed of myself for so long. These videos are beautiful and helpful.

That was a terrific overview of HSPs.
The animation was kinda dissapointing though. It just wasn't up to snuff and didn't seem to click with excellent transcript and voiceover in the way I've come to expect of your presentations. IMHO it'd be worth redoing. I hope you give some consideration to doing so.

YES! I am one of them and all 9 things are accurate as possible. Am just curious how can you know all this an make such an amazing video about it and how can I live in society if I'm HSP. This makes me struggle since I have to take care of myself like go to job and pay bills.

Everything. Everything in this video is me in a nutshell. Thank you very much for your videos like this. It is these videos that let me easily know what I should be looking into as I find myself and allowing me to more easily describe to my therapist what I am going through.

This seems completely unscientific. The description of the so-called HSP is exactly like a horoscope - vague enough and general enough to describe just about anybody. Just another made-up category to make people feel special.

I feel things so deeply! I'm much more sensitive than those other, ordinary, people! I'm highly sensitive and that makes me SPECIAL! I suspect there's a very strong correlation between highly sensitive and narcissistic.

I have a hsp friend and boy isn't it hard to deal with sometimes because they perceive the world in a different way that I understand, but yet there lies the beaty in it, it's so interesting to learn about them

Amanda's VO is like rocking to sleep during lullaby - so soothing, and reassuring. Another thing can be function paralysis. Everything is so wrong(percieved) that, like fish out of water, just can't get going.
