This actually helped me understand way better. I came here because I figured maybe I had something cause everyday people keep asking me Whats wrong with you why are you always in a bad mood why are you always mean? And it makes me more upset which causes me to lash out at them and then they just think im a bad person/Friend. This happens especially with one of my friends whom always ask me to get them something. Whether its a highlighter, a pencil, the paper we were supposed to grab- I tell her Get it yourself! And then in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I automatically get in a bad mood all the time just randomly- on day Ill be happy the whole day and then it just goes down hill for the rest of Week. I thought it was just my personality changing and me just getting older. But the more I think about it the more I worry about it. Ive also noticed patterns in how I think. Some days i tell myself, Should I eat breakfast today? Should I eat lunch today? And other days i tell myself, I wish I could get both! Because Ive been struggling with my weight and Im super insecure about it but no matter how much I tell myself I shouldnt stop eating I also tell myself no, you need to eat! My parents try to make me feel better by telling me Your not fat at all honey, did you know muscle weighs more than fat? My dad says it a lot. it makes me feel somewhat better but the only times I fell good at school is when lest say, the own time in ELA when I was the only one in my class to get masters (and only missed one question +The best score) out of my entire class. I was super proud of myself that day. But I switched ELA classes because my teacher wants to become a principal so now shes just a super visor and studies and stuff. Its not that my new teacher is mean, not at all shes super sweet. Its just the kids in the class they get me a bad mood and then Im in a bad mood just like that. As soon as I walk in, automatic frown. Dunno why though. And when I speak do some odd reason I speak when everyone else is also speaking and then everyone silents and looks at me. Idk why. its super strange and just makes me mad. Im gonna stop typing now cause no one is probably gonna read this.

My only official diagnosis is aspergers. However I can relate to many of the personality disorder signs. Ocd - for me the need for everything to be balanced which can manifest as brushing my teeth an equal number of times and as a child feeling extreme anxiety when items were not sorted in order of size. Touching anything I perceived as dirty or sticky would make me feel the dirt on my hand for ages and I would have to scrub my hand with soap and water to get the feeling away. For me my ocd symptoms impact my life less as I've gotten older. Possibly because as an adult I am able to have more control over my life than I did as a child. Social anxiety - everyone calls me shy but I get anxiety to the point that I can become mute in certain situations. Paranoia and the constant feeling of being watched even when alone. My window blinds are often closed because I can't cope with the thought that someone might be able to watch what I'm doing through the window. Sometimes I can feel so uncomfortable I have to hide under a blanket. ADD - I can be extremely inattentive at times even though at other times I can be in a state of hyperfocus and oblivious to everything around me. As the video suggests I can be easily distracted by things around me and my own thoughts. Trying to remain focused can be exhausting. At many points in my life I have thought I must have at least one personality disorder and I have had contact with mental health services several times with depression and anxiety. Eventually a psychiatrist agreed with me that I most likely had aspergers and sent me on my way. The sad conclusion I've come to based on my experience is that mental health services don't really want to know. Maybe there isn't really anything they can do to help and maybe all that really helps is your own courage and determination to just keep trying.

So much of this I identify with and I feel such a sense of hopelessness in overcoming. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and my psychiatrist thinks I may some bipolar issues. One thing is that I am working towards trying to live a more normal life but many things often come to the surface that I have no idea how to, deal, with. My psych only controls my medication and isnt paid to give me counsel.
One thing thats bothering me lately is the fear that I am needy and attention seeking. I recently posted something in a FB group of my favourite band and it was a post from the lead singer of another band that he sent to me. I wanted to share this other bands music and reposted the message sent to on the FB page of my favourite band. The mods took the post down because they thought it was a look at me and see what I got attention seeking message. I guess it did come across like that but it wasnt my intention. However Infind Ive been doing this all my life with the need to be recognised as a boy I was called a show off when I took my brothers guitar to a friends house i was a scruffy little urchin when I was a boy, my clothes were dirty and ripped as my dad couldnt afford many new ones. My mum died when I was 8 and I suffered so many negative experiences that destroyed my self confidence and happiness. Im 57 now and feel so overwhelmed with so many symptoms, the self worthlessness, the lack, of motivation, the struggle, with just getting out of bed, unable to motivate myself to exercise and therefore put myself at serious risk as Im weighing in around 16 stone with a height of 5 7 feel so hopeless at times, es although I know I have made a lot of progress since diagnosis 5 years ago.

Okay but ADHD goes so far beyond just being easily distracted. ADHD is sitting on the couch on your phone knowing you need to eat and use the bathroom and wanting to but being unable to change tasks or even get up. ADHD is being late to things even though youve tried over and over to be on time. ADHD is a good student still forgetting homework and trying to follow along with the reading in class but inevitably having to ask where you are when its your turn to read. ADHD is saying youll do something and then forgetting it even when you know itll upset someone you care about. ADHD is rereading the same paragraph over and over because you kept missing what it said. ADHD is hating how often you interrupt. ADHD is being told your whole life that youre lazy, disrespectful, rude, irresponsible, selfish, and because you dont know why you keep making the same mistakes no matter how hard you try, believing it. Im so grateful I was able to self-diagnose and then later get a professional diagnosis. Knowing my issues stem from an impaired prefrontal cortex and not being a bad person has been such a burden lifted off my shoulders. I hope all my undiagnosed ADHD fam can get that same relief!

Always love the videos that are put up. I would like to mention that ADHD isn't a mental disorder it's a nuero type. I understand that there are challenges that come with ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity. However that doesn't mean that people should be branded with a label that essentially marks them as wrong and lesser than. Nuero diversity is different wiring of the brain and there is nothing wrong with that.
As a nuero diverse person, the word disorder is highly offensive and should be removed. Just because a person doesn't fit the norm, it doesn't mean they should be labelled as disordered. This insulting language hurts self esteem and sense of worth. I think people need to be aware of this so that one day future nuero diverse people won't feel that they are wrong or not good enough. We are all enough and difference should be celebrated!

Has anyone with adhd tried to get organized, or make a schedule only to spend forever on creating the schedule but then not actually sticking to it because you got distracted or grossly overestimated/underestimated the time it would take to do their tasks they had planned? I spent over an hour trying to organize stuff, and it just doesn't seem to stick even when I'm trying really hard to make it work out. Also I'm upset because I keep skipping meals on accident because I turn off my alarms saying, I'll do that in just a sec. but then that sec is hours freaking later. Also I keep spending too much money when I plan a budget and now I'm broke. One last thing, I'm mad that I keep forgetting to try and find a psychiatrist/therapist to help me because I think it could help if I actually remembered to go.

I have Tourettic ocd, basically where the obsessions are replaced by a feeling similar to a premonitory urge (sort of like a massive buildup of energy) and if I ever brought up my symptoms everyone would say that I was just a perfectionist which wasnt true but I couldnt describe at all what I was feeling (now I also show signs of OCD and my intrusive thoughts can get really bad)
I also show signs of paranoid personality disorder but I have no clue If its to do with OCD, I would get constant thoughts and images that my mum would try to stab me no matter what, I was scared to sleep that she would kill me in the middle of the night, I also can not have people walking behind me, I always feel like they will try and stab me, I have this constant fear

I didn't know anything about HPD. I kinda feel bad because I've been bothered by people I just labelled as needy or overly extroverted. I wonder now if any of them had HPD.
But. in my defense, they refused to understand my own preferences, being an introverted, socially anxious person and preferring to stay in smaller, more private friend groups. They even mocked me for it and hit me with harmful labels in public places, whereas I never openly shamed them for my own problems with _their_ behavior. I'm not a confrontational person so it's quite upsetting when someone shoves me out of my comfort zone in such a way.

Its bad to label everything wrong with someones psyche as a disorder, so many people can get help by realizing their issues and naturally fixing their lives without doctors and medications that make people feel crazy. People need to understand just looking out a far distance in the morning and seeing the sun within an hour of waking activates clocks within, let alone all we are supposed to do daily to maintain our best state. A lot of people are raised terribly or live terribly and get mentally skewed and theres pills for that? I know people who commuted suicide because their pills werent working

Is being workaholic a disorder? I work really hard these days so I could stop thinking and avoid my reality.
Whenever I'm on leave, I know I should be resting. I know I deserve to rest but it becomes the opposite. I should be resting but feel more tired, that's the time I become so vulnerable. I feel like I'm wasting my day, and that's pretty much the time that my traumas, anxiety, and depressive thoughts come out.
I prefer working so I could escape. I break down everyday, but working lessens the pain. I am not sure if I'm dealing with my thoughts the right way.

I ended up relating to the Distraction and ADHD part, so I rushed to my parents and asked if they could seek someone professional just to be sure. They laughed at me and told me that if I have ADHD then they have it too.
It's hard for me because everytime I try to seek help or open up, they push me back to my imaginary protection box. And everytime, it gets harder to look or get help with my mental illness, when I'm actually diagnosed as someone who has social anxiety.
I don't want to give up on myself, but I have no one to ask for help at this point

I've been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, and the procrastination aspect of it is pretty accurate. I struggle with the symptoms listed in the video; fatigue, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, emptiness. I really lack that energy to accomplish the basic tasks of a normal productive human being. No matter what you tell me I could do to get out and do stuff. like ride a damn bike, walk, I just don't have the energy to do it, or the interest.

Perhaps the time has come where they need to do some renaming. Depression, Anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder are almost more behaviors than Names. someone can be anxious, or depressed. what about Names that are more self explanatory but medical like renal failure. Like. I have an enlarged basal ganglia. or a natural dopamine deficiency - where not only does the patient know exactly what's wrong but it also suggests more of how thus to treat it!

it hurts having to wait to get diagnosed. ive only been diagnosed with General Anxiety & then got switched to a Panic Disorder. i almost got diagnosis with Depression but i had to lie my way out of it because i know i would get yelled at and mocked. even if i was able to get diagnosed, i wouldnt be able to heal from it. i cant heal when im still getting treated the same way ive always been. cheers to anyone going through something similar.

Its also important to note that just because your problem or toxic trait is not a mental disorder, it doesnt mean that is not a struggle or that is easy to change
Many people use this criteria of if its not a mental disorder, that means youre just being fussy/childish but sometimes it can really be a challenge to let go of certain personality trait even when you are aware that they are harmful to you and others

Since little, I always were very paranoid, and I'm still. I constantly feel like I'm being watched, I have hallucinations, which makes me more anxious. And sometimes I think everyone hates me and have second intentions. That's why I'm always changing myself for others or doing favors, because I think they'll hate me if I don't. Should I get help? I don't think my parents will believe me.

I am the opposite. I am reclusive, withdrawn, asocial, and have no friends. This is mistaken for a mental defect. It is actually a protection technique that assures I can never be a victim to a social predator again. I am impossible to use, betray, then painfully abandon after I served my purpose. My, mental defect, is actually the ultimate way to protect ourselves.

I really hate that people label mental disorders as cool or quirky, thankfully I dont think I have any of these, but its just so dumb, I cant believe people would label a negative malfunction/disorder in someones brain cool. Maybe they have a disorder in theyre brain cuz its clearly not working.

Hey, I just wanna say, I have diagnosed adhd and I wouldnt say its a mental disorder. Those around me say its a nerodivers condition, and I personally dont think I suffer from it. Dont get me wrong, Im sure it makes it really hard for some people but, I guess its like autism in a few ways

So. About Paranoid Personality Disorder. If I always think someone is following me or I hear steps, or see shadows, but there is nobody, only me walking in empty street/people are about 3 meters far from me. Does that means I have it?

As someone who's currently stuck in a Depressive episode it's not fun and my mom keeps calling me lazy and un helpful and what makes it worse is that she said herself that she used to be Majorly depressed
