Me & sleep
1: Morning person
oH MY GOD NO morning is my least favorite time to be alive.
2: Night owl
I dont sleep until 2: 00 in the morning. And thats because my parents make me sleep. On sleepovers i stay up all night even when the other persons asleep
3: Staying up late
See previous
4: waking up early
Only if i have nightmares or a lucid dream. Otherwise i dont wake up
5: oversleeping
I dont. Sleep. but i try to stay in bed. Its because i go to sleep so late though. I wish i could just have a noon to midnight schedule but my family is sane so.
6: tired every morning
Depression. Not going to bed. Poor health. There are lots of reasons this happens to me
7: sleeping longer and longer
Nah. Tbh i wish i slept longer i only get like 4 hours of sleep and 3 hours of resting while awake
8: sleeping on your side
Yep yep yep! I sleep in like a million positions every month so
9: not being able to fall asleep
It takes me hours to fall asleep. Something thats helped me is thinking of fantasies, from a warrior cats roleplay to acting out scenes from my novels in my head. It helps me but not a _whole_ lot. It takes me maybe an hour or two now which is. Better. But still bad
Anyway yeah im unhealthy and sleep deprived rip

My boyfriend just found out that he has sleep apnea after going in to have it checked out after I suggested it and said he sounded just like my grandma snoring when he snores and she had sleep apnea. He uses a cpap machine now and it makes a world of difference.
Ive found that I rarely need an alarm clock anymore no matter what time I have to wake up as long as I tell myself to wake up at a certain time I will always wake up a few minutes before its time to wake up. I used to be able to sleep for hours on end with no problem but as I have gotten older, (Ill be 47 this month, if I sleep longer than 8 hours Ill wake up with the beginning of a headache thats hard to get rid of as the day goes on. I can sometimes stave it off by drinking a lot of water right before bed or during the day since it feels like a dehydration headache.

I am a nurse - and back in Serbia my working schedule was so hectic (add to it my usual messed up sleeping habits) that I had more night shifts and less time to relax after it (for example one day off and then back to day shift) - it really messed up my sleeping habits and generally life. I moved to another country - Germany, hopefully the work schedule will be less hectic here, but kinda crazy work hours are a little too much normalized for nurses and I am still kinda having feeling that it's on the first look too good here to be true. But, at least I have experience about my body response to crazy shifts back home, so I will be able to better manage my time here.

Another reason people might sleep for 14 plus hours is because they have trouble hitting the rem sleep cycle, meaning they never fully rest. By not fully resting, you need longer to gain back that energy. It's like eating single pieces of lettuce instead of having a proper meal. You'll need more leaves of lettuce to gain the same amount of energy a full well balanced meal provides! This can be cause by anxiety, or other mental factors, as well as an imbalance of melatonin (i believe! I'm not an expert and am only repeating what my doctor has told me since i can sleep for up to 20 hours a day easily)

wait, so what happens if i get the 3-5 am routine, but i also oversleep. from the time of this comment, im currently between the waking up a specific time routine, mostly 7-9am because i fall asleep around 1-3am. But then, about a week and a half ago, i was sleeping 14+ hours for a whole week, also falling asleep between 1-3am. my sleeping has always been broken, I usually equated it to stress, autism or depression, but idk, its confusing and I still dont know why its so badly messed up, even when i try to set a good rhythm or routine >. >

Regarding lack of sleep. Can you PuHlease stop the stigma that it must be mental! Are you not aware of how many people live with chronic physical illnesses that prevent them from sleeping? Constantly needing to go to the toilet due to bladder disease and bowel diseases or vertigo or constant chronic pain. I could go on and on. People with neurological disorders have expecially hard time sleeping, its neurological not mental.

i sleep at 2-3 a. m and wake up at 2 p. m, so it's literally 12 hours of sleep but for some reason whenever i wake up i feel tired and want to go to sleep again and staying at bed all day. but the guilt of wasting my day just sleeping and thinking so much about how i waste my time without doing anything, and being negative about myself mentally and physically wouldn't let me sleep, idk if that consider normal or not.

My sleep habits are most often affected by my mood. I have a mood disorder, and as Ive learned over time, medications help drastically to improve my mental health, but they dont cure it. Right now, Im grieving the loss of two of our pet cats, so Ive been feeling depressed. I havent been getting enough sleep the past two nights, and Ive noticed that it happens when Im anxious or stressed about something too.

Sleeping on your back is the WORSE position for people with sleep apnea. The gravity will have your jaw, tongue and soft palate drop towards your throat and increase breathing difficulties. Hence, the loud snoring.
Doctors and anyone that treat sleep apnea know this, thus inform people who have been tested. If anyone has concerns, go get tested.

Some days I don't want to go to sleep because I don't want to face tomorrow's work and responsibilities.
Thankfully I'm in school and I'll have like 2 months or more of vacation in a month or something.
I really hope I can take a break from this homework and exam crap (I have good grades but all of this is tiring and stressful)

medical professional here, the video needs a correction: In sleep apnoea, the most common form being Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA, sleeping on your back exacerbate symptoms because gravity weighs your soft palate down into your airway/pharynx, thereby obstructing it. So the recommendation is to sleep on your SIDE. 4: 07

I normally just cant sleep early. My mom tries to send me to sleep early but I end up staying awake till 2 or 3 Im the morning then I fall asleep. I dont have access to my phone at night, so I guess its the fact that I think up different scenarios.

Hi I have Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy and on top of that I have depression these are very hard to live with, since I am now 17 years old I will probably need to take medication for my Narcolepsy if I want or need to work, I hope someone sees this!

It really doesn't matter how I sleep. I could go to bed at 8pm or 11pm, I always wake up at 2 times. It's always 5: 30am or 11am. It doesn't even matter anymore.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can do with only eight hours of sleep. I've always needed at least ten (more when I do a lot of activity during the day.

What would I be if I sleep around 1 am and wake up at 5: 50 am? I feel so tired, that I feel like I'm going to one day just fall asleep on the spot.
