Does the sight of a honeycomb, sponges, or holes make you shaky and sick to your stomach? Do you feel discomfort and an urge to destroy it? You could have trypophobia, a fear of holes

I dont really get triggered by things like honeycomb or strawberrys. Because those things are natural, when you see honeycomb you dont think that its not natural, it is, theres nothing that changes with it. Also holes in a pattern. Like if there were holes in one straight line all the same size, Id be fine. Ts just anything that unnatural or just not the right way holes are supposed to be is what triggers me.

For me my trypophobia isn't that bad but when I'm stressed I can get triggered by random things and it it makes it hard to do normal tasks, once when I was younger for a good while I was convinced that I had lotus flower like holes on my upper back under my neck an even now when I see things in small holes I feel the need to take it out or clean it

I have Tryphobia and I absolutely hate having it is so terrifying I also have
Arachnophobia which is the fear of spiders and just seeing the eyes YUCK!
The things that dont trigger my Tryphobia would be honeycombs and strawberries to me when I see one of those video thumbnails with the small holes on your feet its terrifying for me!

It's already been said, but still. Let's all be honest, if it weren't for those CG photos made to disgust and horrify us, this phobia really wouldn't exist. Am I scared of a honeycomb? No. Am I scared of a whack-a-mole game? No. Am I scared of photos that look like some alien/lovecraft bioplague, FCK YES

I was gonna eat some Swiss cheese but I flipped the cheese over and it had tons of tiny holes all over it (unlike the medium sized holes. I just. I had a feeling in me. Hard to breathe. Terrified. I had a difficult time trying to put the cheese back in the ziplock bag.

Heres my theory why its not a recognized phobia: internet contagion is a big factor to peoples fear and understanding of danger. If preschoolers think that strawberries are okay, but blue octopi are dangerous - its not the repeated pattern aesthetic thats the problem

I cried in school because of trypophobia we were learning about shapes and she sowed a honey comb
My ex bff didn't do anything about it and my bestie went to the toilet so I was just stuck crying until it was over
She had the guts to say it's just small holes

Most of the things u mentioned doesn't rlly affect me but things like lotus seeds, really bad acne/scars, boiling water in a pan, edited pictures etc make me so uncomfortable like idk how to explain it, it's not that deep for me but it still gives me the ick
reply

i have an opposite affect. i want to look at it. i get stuck looking at it. uneven holes. i imagine that my whole body is filled with holes. or my pores open up and i feel it. or what if your pores was little mouths trying to suck on something. i love it

It isn't the fear of holes. It's the fear of living holes with a purpose, perhaps to infect or attack, that repulses people. It's the fear of a low, unintelligent life form possessing a systematic structure with an evil purpose that's horrifying.

My trypophobia is very extreme to the point when going to shower can cause me to vomit and scratch myself till I bleed only at the sight of water droplets, the shower head and the drain holes? Its honestly the worst I cant freely do most things
reply

I have this really bad and the ceilings in the classrooms are the Styrofoam ones that trigger me really bad and I just end up going into the bathroom for a long time and I get it I dont get triggered by strawberries but pretty much everything

My main symptoms are nausia and gaging I have never thrown up before. but I almost have twice. Trypophobia has greatly impacted my life mainly with my friends and family just not understanding why I can't be around or look at certain things.

For me, its when they arent perfect. With honeycomb, they all look basically the same, just a ton of hexagons. When it comes to things like coral, spotted animals, or sponges, I have to look away. It just doesnt sit right with me.

I JUST saw a thumbnail with a drawing of holes all over a girl's face and I got goosebumps, my head started tingling like I had holes in my head, and my allergies reacted really badly.
reply

The only times that my trypophobia triggers is when I see packed holes on something that shouldn't have holes like humans tables which triggers me the most which is basically edited pictures
reply

Thank you so much cuz I have trypophobia really bad in this video helps me cuz I didn't know the name of it so it's hard for whenever I had to explain it to people that I knew what was happening
reply

I get triggered by some things
But there is this specific type of slime that triggers me
I dont like it at all
Edit: i searched trypophobia
I nearly CRIED in fear
i was shaking

closly packed unsymetric holes are the worst. symetric is. it's somekind of ok and if its part of nature with a sense it makes it bearable to look at it. but overall only programmed.
reply

I thought that maybe I just didnt like pics of edited holes on human skin. I continued to look at examples other than that and my eye started twitching and I almost broke down-
reply

Anything else that have holes do not trigger my trypophobia, but holes on the human body EXTREMELY trigger my trypophobia. Not anything else like strawberries or anything else.
reply

Trypophobia for me is overwhelming, uncomfortable, disgusting, and disturbing, it's hard to explain. But it's absolutely something to make me feel sick if I see it too long.
reply

Mine was only afraid when i saw it it wet surfaces or in land or cemented places and in human body. I can relate a little and feel disgusted a little bit thingking bout it
reply

I don't feel anything of this but what I don't like is when people superimpose body parts with the flower that have seeds inside holes that is bad for the brain.
reply
