Video game advertising is growing and learning just as fast as the industry itself is growing. Mistakes have been made. Here are our favorite examples George: Ooh, so close. 4:41 that's a picture from the city of Bath in Somerset, not London. LOL! Also #3, here in the UK you also risk getting points on your license for speeding, you get 3 points on your license and a fine, get 10 or 12 points and you lose your license. You can opt for a voluntary driving safety course to avoid the points. Is anyone going to risk their license for a video game?!

For number 10 the Call of Duty twitter didn't change it's tag though.
I feel like that's more on the fans that didn't look at the - tag after looking at the display name change than the people who were promoting the game.
The little responsibility they had though was to put a disclaimer in the twitter's description after the display name change.

Capcom should have marketed the Resident Evil 2 remake around the four police station keys somehow like for example the first one hundred people to find all four got a special Resident Evil 2 skin or something, I'm referring to the Spade, Heart, Diamond, and Club keys, I'm not sure how they could have marketed that but it would have been cool

You guys are really forgetting WatchDogs 2 advertising campaign?
Maniacs stole a car, hijacked it, made it run through the city wrecking anything on it's way just to have it crash on a billboard!
Those guys at Ubisoft went nuts!

The one about obtaining 1.7 MM shares shouldn-t have been on this list. That marketing campaign was smart. Tons of businesses are still utilizing that method in the exact same way, and other are with a tweak.

It's crazy how half this stuff has to go through an entire marketing team to get approved and it still does. Surely one of them should've been like 'uuuuh, this might not be a good idea'

Another company did something similar to the wad wad edition and it was cheaper and sold to deadmouse. no one ever stepped up for the expensive wadwad edition though.

That first one actually infuriates me. Do you know how hard it is to find a guitar hero guitar that works anymore? I had 3, none work as intended anymore.

-I think we all understand that body parts are not good to have even if they-re fake-
Uhhh.. lol I-m gonna have to disagree with you there

Killing a goat and then letting people put their hands in the severed body of the goat was a pretty dumb promotion for god of war
