What The HELL Went Wrong With SUICIDE SQUAD They’re using the mobile game strategy where they just create one gameplay loop for the initial season, then when the next season comes they introduce a little more with a bunch of reskins of previous encounters to fill time with. Just rinse and repeat each season until there’s a complete roster and game to play then use capcoms plus edition strategy to sell another hundred dollar copy a year down the road to get the final product so they can double dip on something that’s actually been an early access game for full price and you’ve been paying for the updates through DLC

The actors and animators for the cutscenes really did incredible work. I wonder if any of them questioned the direction or tone of what they were doing, though. There's such a dissonance in this game between the quality of the characters' performances (save for a few rough ones) and the quality of the writing and direction. It really feels like no one ever had any idea what kind of game they were supposed to be making, so they just did the work and hoped it would all come together in the end. Almost every attempt at a serious moment is undercut by random or crass comedy that falls flat because of poor timing and incongruent music.
I firmly believe at this point that the game got the greenlight and started production without more than a name and a basic idea. Clearly there wasn't a vision for the tone, how the story would work, or how the gameplay would fit that story. They just cobbled together an assortment of ideas, spent upwards of half a decade making it, and never considered whether it would all fit together. What a mess.

In my opinion respectfully, as a video game fan, Batman Fan, DC comics and Superhero fan. I enjoyed it. I can understand the hate of it.
I really enjoyed the storyline and look forward too if they get to continue the game. I enjoyed Kevin being an evil Batman and taunting me throughout the game.
It was a suicide squad’s story and I felt it was told very well and had a great Dark comedy vibe.
The gameplay was fun while repetitive. I will definitely be going back to max out the other characters in grind with the loot. As that was fun for me and my friend. And hopefully play the new stories as they become available. For me it was a fun little turn, your brain off enjoy the story loop.
I do agree however as a Batman fan and a long time Arkham fan, I would’ve preferred another up to this universe, but I’m not disappointed with what I got.

I feel that they should have done one of two things - either A ) not make it part of the arkhamverse at all, or b ) not make the objective killing the Justice League. They could have easily made it a game about the suicide squad hunting down other villains. Maybe make the Justice League mysteriously away and no one knows why, so villains start running amok - so, Amanda Waller calls in the suicide squad, and they have to hunt and fight other villains. And the over-all seasonal theme is unlocking new villains with clues as to what's happened to the Justice League and other capes. Then, you can unlock more villains to play as. Hell, maybe make it work by having Ras Al-Ghul working with the villains, which is why they can keep coming back from the dead to enact their schemes.

The entire dev team that worked on the original Batman Arkham trilogy left the studio years ago, long before work even began on Suicide Squad.
Literally, zero of the talent that produced the Arkham trilogy had anything to do with Suicide Squad.
This is why the art direction, story, character history ect doesn't match the Arkham series and are now terrible in Suicide Squad.
Because these triple A companies go out of their way for that DEI/ESG money they are now only focused on short term gains and hiring trash fan fic writers at best, like annoying toxic social anarchist Sweet Baby Inc, to ruin every popular Ip among male fans.
This game deserves to fail, and Rocksteady deserves to go out of business for this.

What went wrong with this game These developers wanted to tell their own story but instead of improving on what came before them being the original rocksteady devs they completely butchured what made them relevant and revolutionized an entire game genre, but instead of improving on what was once they turned this into a live service game and became typical game devs trying to please the investors instead of whatever we got. If they wanted to tell their own story 1. Don’t work at rocksteady or 2. Don’t intertwine it with the arkhamverse
reply

I don't understand why publishers and developers aren't learning the lesson that you can't simply take a single-player game and make it a live service game. Anthem tried to do that and look what happened. Same with Marvel's Avengers. There are lots of examples, and they are just attempts to make more money out of the player. At this point, if you're a studio and you do this, gamers will call you out on it and you will get shut down. If Rocksteady goes under because of this they only have themselves to blame.

Everyone hating on this game is a nerd crybaby. I compare this game to other live service games and good god is it ten times better than the ones I’ve played. Been playing destiny since day 1 and this game just filled the void I had when I stopped playing destiny. Whatever you guys wanted doesn’t really matter. What we got is pretty decent. I ain’t see a single micro transaction shoved in my face. If you say this is a shame to the Arkham universe again ur a nerd crybaby. And go play another game
reply

Rocksteady absolutely dropped the ball with this lol. They could have possibly started their own DC universe by making games focused around those characters for years, as long as the quality is similar and better to the Arkham series. Live service games have always been a gaming companies effort at continuous profit, and not only does it rarely work but the time spent on making it can never be returned.

The only reason I got this game cause of the moment to moment gameplay, looter shooter aspects in endgame and replayability. But yeah, if the story was not just a tutorial to the endgame and secondary, that would have made this game much better for more people. Maybe they should have just made a looter shooter with not much story and then make another game which is an actual follow up in Arkham verse.
reply

I have been saying this since the moment I found out it was live service and it was that the live service aspect was going to ruin the game I’m still gonna play it of course cause I want to see where it goes but I don’t think it will get better than what’s already there. However there is a chance they could surprise me and that’s what I will be looking for but again doubt it.

Idk what everyone is talking about, I spent $100 on the deluxe edition so I've been playing since day one, got about 8 hours on lock with this game. The only problem I've had and the issue that I see with the story and the directions they took is that it's just black. Like a black screen and I can't play and there's been no fix. That's the joke, I haven't played because it doesn't work.

This game has been a blast for me. I already clocked 40 hours in and just beat the main boss. This is a looter shooter that actually has an entertianing and easy to follow story. All it shares is characters. Don't mess with some nerd's heroes, I guess. They cry really loud and for a long time. But to all the people who don't care and are enjoying the game and it's humor. Cheers

I dont know i just enjoy pissing people off plus i really think this way, batman and all the hero idiots arent good guys in any way. Suicide squad in my opinion are just a little messed up in the head but not bad people. Killing the heros is justice. Otherwise they could have made the game a lot better i agree on that but i dont care is it disrespectful to batman or whoever

It seems that WB is trying to end itself in the most funny way possible and I admire a CEO that has a sense of humor when trying to off the company. Company is BLEEEEEEDING and the CEO says Hand me that hatchet, I think I can make us bleed a lot more. If I worked at WB or any of it's subsidiaries I would be looking for new stable employment soon.

They should've made Batman taking over the justice league but due to some idiot's dumb idea what did we get, 4 imbecile took over the greatest superhero of all time who has already defeated these low tier villians thousands of times. really rocksteady is gonna be the next pandemic or maybe volition studios. once great studios turning to dust
reply

There's nothing wrong with the game. The game is really good. They're only problem I see is that people want to see a lot from the game that just came out. This is not destiny that has been around for like a years now or 9 years now. This game just need more time and people just need to support it. The game is good and it plays good

I 100% want Sweet Baby Inc to lose their jobs and shut down over this. It probably wont happen, but I want that cancer to shut down and go away. And I want all the people working there to leave video games alone and go ruin some other industry. Go ruin the Yacht industry. I'm sure there's a lot of social justice to be done there.
reply

I didn’t even realize they made this canon to the Arkham Knight Batman! Seriously, I’m sick of the billion dollar companies literally crapping on their fans. De we even get any games we want anymore All they do to make quick bucks on us in the form of Remasters to keep us fed until their next money grab dumpster fire of a game.
reply

Nothing I have a feeling they don't care with the game having majority positive reviews on both steam and the microsoft store (havent checked sony) from the player base. Have i personally played it no will I, I don't know. that said this narrative being spun is not being reflected in those reviews, who knows paid actors maybe.
