When it comes to sequels of great games, there are existing expectations to meet. God of War did it, and did it well. While games such as The Last of Us 2 missed the mark compared to their predecessor.
In the case of Ghost of Yotei, I believe Sucker Punch met those expectations. It is still visually beautiful, it still has a rich story and character to play, and it still has great combat and music. While I understand not playing as Jin may be upsetting for some, this still has the makings of a great game. The one aspect they could mess up on (and what the LOU mainly messed up on) is the story, which I doubt they will do. Overall, this game looks promising, and I'll definitely be picking up a copy of it.
It will be a overall success for SP, and that is rightfully earned.

As someone who only can afford one game. I cannot make the choice between this and silent Hill f. I played ghosts of Tsushima three times. I love the combat. So I know I'm getting more of ghosts of tsushima. But silent Hill f is going to scratch that horror itch. But I know I'll only play that once. I always only play horror games once, but the experience is so awesome. Res Evil 7, Silent Hill 2 remake, res Evil 2 and 4 remake were so fun but all one play through. Ughhh I hate that these games are $70. I have to work an extra 2 days just so I can make rent. Ughhhh I hate these decisions.

I feel like this one actually might be absolutely made for me.
I've always liked the idea of less of the main character being their own character but you being able to express yourself by going primarily on side quests.
This still doesn't completely give me that more Skyrim without it being Skyrim mentality but I like the idea of a bigger world with more meaty side quests because I actually did find the side quests of the first game to be kind of hollow and it made it easier to just be lying to the end of the main game

The deeper I look into this game, the more I see Dragon Age the veil guard. I got that game for 10$ on release through a connection at EA. I refunded it after a few hours. The dialogue was so awful! I was embarrassed to play the game. I didn't want anyone seeing it in my library. I really hope this game isn't Dragon Age TVG 2. 0. Definitely not buying it until I get reviews from gamers. Not critics that say whatever they're told to. I am really hoping I'm wrong and this is as good as the first game. Cus that game was awesome!

so far, looks good - but whether it feels as good/better to play, to go through the story, the vibes as the previous one - have to try first.
But whether i want it or not, i must buy the physical copy - i am never buying an online copy that could be stripped away from me at any given time just cuz I dont have Playstation Plus.
As long as it does not have an online service and microtransactions or that it locks 90% of the game if you're not playing online, I'll try it on my PS5 when it is being sold here.

Thanks for covering this game! I missed out on the 1st game. The ONLY complaint I had w/ Ghost of Tsushima was the escalation in Enemy TYPE and CONFRONTATIONAL set-up. (or AI) Once you got to the last Third of the game. They just threw More Brutes at you, and it fell flat to try and complete all the strongholds. That was a shame given they could have ratcheted up the enemy Boss meter 10x. That's kinda the complaint. There needed to be Bosses (that fit the mechanics) and more Variety.

People who loved GoT will find more of the same here with some tweaks and improvements, while those that expected it to be as stunning and awe-inspiring as GoT's first play may not find what they're looking for. Sounds solid.

The cribbing from Rise of the Ronin and AC: Shadows is nice, but they’ve borrowed the wrong things. Weapon stances needed to be included per weapon. Gameplay needed to have drawn on the faction/ally systems from either series, but instead, SP lobbed a half-hearted sequel, just like Infamous 2 and Sly 2 before it. I will play it to platinum, but regret my preorder at this point. Style over substance is a no-go for me.

Damn. That is what I was afraid. Send like GOT 1. 5. GOT was a classic, Rise of the Ronin was amazing and then Assassin's Creed Was pleasant surprise in which I didn't think I would like it at all. Now this. I might wait until I'm bored too get this. I'm still playing Assassin's Creed and I don't feel this will be better. At most, just as good, which I think they should have evolved the game more.

Hope it’s better than the first, which was a decent enough game but got extremely repetitive after the first few hours. A bit disappointing to hear that the story didn’t improve much because GoT’s story was pretty forgettable. At least it seems the side quests are better this time around b/c those were not good at all in the first one.

It's kind of hard to immerse yourself with the character, knowing the motion capture actress and her attitude. They should've continued Jin Sakai's journey instead they chose to pander to a certain demographic. as for the game, based on this video, it looks like a Ghost of Tsushima reskin: same animations, same npcs, same game mechanics.

5: 03 do no journalists play games on hard Slightly rhetorical since I know the goal is a review for the average consumer but if combat felt easy play on hard Lethal was the best way to experience GoT’s combat and as much as you should play on what works for you, you will get more fulfillment out of overcoming an actual challenge

Getting rid of Jin was Sucker Punches biggest mistake imo, they need to understand how much we loved and felt for that protagonist. Jin’s story should of continued. Being some random roaming killer just doesnt do it for me. Definitely gana pass on this one

What made GOT so good was because of jin sakai and his story. such a well written character they decided to skip him. when there was definitely more to explore with his character. wouldn't mind a new story like yotei but GOT 2 had to be the priority by the studio

I think Sony is dropping the ball with its IP sequels, like Forbidden West and this. In my country, Brazil, its just too expensive too buy games, roughly 400$, so for us to buy new games it really needs to surprise and innovate. This just seems like DLC

at least if it doesn't feel exactly the same like some other games, i am fine, each game will have its own flavor, like MGS, the base is the same, but every game has its own thing and flavor it makes all of the series and each game special

So basically I'm going to absolutely LOVE this game cause I loved the first game, it didn't have everything but everything it did have was perfect or near it, so to have a even bigger and better sequel to a game I fully enjoyed, that's great!
