Watching this as an Italian is honestly hilarious. I used to live in New York so I’m not even gonna argue about the prices. Sure, in Naples you can get the best pizza of your life for 5 dollars but that’s beside the point. This is honestly a brilliant marketing job. Pizza, like most popular Italian foods, is simple, made with real and often cheap ingredients. Huge respect to these guys for the passion and effort they put into this, but it’s wild how compared to a few years ago it’s all about how you sell yourself, not what you’re actually selling.

Ok - I gotta call complete BS on them struggling and having no money. 12: 23 That dude is wearing a Rolex GMT Master II Blue Red Pepsi Bezel Steel, which retails for around $25, 000 on the secondary market. If they had a couple thousand dollars in the bank, he easily could of sold that to provide liquidity.

These guys are just another group of pretentious chef bros they’re the stereotypical nyc line cooks, they hit all the same bases as everyone else, they’re artisan and craft and not like anyone else and they’re literally the most unoriginal copycat pizza in nyc lmao

yeah i draw the line at $40 cheese pizzas. idk, i don't really care about your 3-star EMP pedigree. reminds me of this white dude i used to cook with in NYC who re-invited chinese 5-spice with his 27-spice blend. i don't really care for your education and pretentiousness.

It would be the most expensive pizza I've ever had but I get it: when they are talking about all these intricacies within the pizza, I would try it to see if I could taste something new that I liked and then try to isolate it and use that in my future pizza making.

I have been wanting to try Ceres for months now, before it became supper poplar and before Portnoy’s review. I can’t wait to try it in December in New York. It’s like Breaking Bad in there with the attention to detail and mathematical perfectionism.

Charging 11 Madison prices is a disgrace to pizza and what pizza stands for, so is making people spend a whole day waiting for a pie because you don't sell slices. This place is a joke, go down a few more blocks to Scarr's. Your welcome!

60$ per pie by the way. to all you guys exalting their professionalism and attention to detail. While I don't doubt that their pizzas are amazing, I think that over-engineering the process to that extent is just typical pretentious NYC bs.

In 1985-86, I ate pizza outside a shop on 7th Ave 27th St (F. I. T. My technique: pepperoni slice, bend in halve, drain oil onto oil-slick sidewalk. and napkins don't forget plenty of napkins.

Been in this place before, THE MOST OVERRATED PIZZA! Taste somewhat slightly better than Dominos or Papa Johns. Maybe close to Pizza hut but i still prefer Pizza hut over this burnt PIZZA.

The fact that they're doing repair on that mini split around the food and he's messing around with the sink drain and handling the wrench in the same breath as handling the cheese is GROSS

Julian's last name seems to be a German family name, which also means Money Maker. He and Jacob are actually the money makers. Such great and inspirational business partners!

The clear example of how people act like insane sheep herds. I am glad for their success but there are tones of other places with quality pizza and they don’t make it.

NYC I feel is the only place where you pay to rent/own for buildings that are the worst condition possible. Building new buildings is a ton of permits & OSHA visits.

Finally a place that chops the veggies into tiny pieces instead of leaving massive chunks or slices of vegetables. That's my biggest pet peeve.

Still don’t get the pricing. Pizza Margherita is like 8 in italy, why do they sell theirs for 4 times the price. That’s just crazy.
