The man, the legend, the master Gennaro Contaldo is here to show you how to make perfect pasta and this time he s in VR180 for a series on pasta making. If you can, get yourself a pair of VR Goggles or Google Cardboard and feel like you re stepping into Gennaro s kitchen in real life. You ll be amazed at how real it feels and you can have a proper snoop around! From making the dough to using a pasta maker, you ll be seeing Gennaro like you never have before! Sam: Mr. Gennaro, I just had pasta for lunch today! I made mine last night then refrigerated it overnight. My hands aren't very strong due to illness but I can manage to keep making homemade bread and pasta by hand. My dough is from 2/3 semolina and 1/3 00 flours. For every 350ml by volume of my combined flours (I don't have kitchen scales) I use 100-115 ml of water. It is a stiff dough but after refrigeration it does come out well. Still harder to roll especially by hand than softer dough but versatile. I like it. So today I simply had evoo, garlic powder (I am not very keen on garlic overall---heartburn, seasoned salt and ground black pepper. But I also had salmon with it. You're so correct about fresh pasta. How wonderful it is to make and to eat! I shall miss making homemade pasta and sourdough breads after I get my surgery. Love the kitchen especially that earthen oven. Thank you.

You are in a world of hurt if you cannot make pasta in some shape/form. You go to the grocer, find the pasta aisle and buy your pasta, lol, just kidding, obviously, i have a pasta extractor for my mixer, but you can buy a hand turn/crank also. It is not that hard with a recipe and the right ingredients, ty Gennaro, you are great.

This is fun 1 or 2 times but it s hard to see the actual pasta making because there is no close-up. This one is just about making the actual dough so it s not so critical but seeing details about making the actual different pasta shapes is critical, this kind of video is not so useful for detailed work. Sorry!

Watching and hearing Gennaro work is a pleasure as always. However, VR is a tiresome, pointless fad that needs to go away until it's able to add value to a video. If it weren't for Gennaro's voice, I could have sworn this pixel soup was showing my grandmother standing in a toolshed.

Controversial opinion here, I actually loved the VR as I ve seen this room many times before but now I actually have a feeling of how it looks. If you watch it on a phone it is a bit annoying but on a pc it s just fine.

Super distracting. As a cameraman and editor, I m screaming at the screen for closeups and pull-up edits. Having spent years shooting food shows, the VR on this stuff is a totally unnecessary and distracting.

Was that real time? It went quite quickly. I usually knead it for at least 6 minutes, but all recipes say at least 10. But then I don't let it rest that long either: D

This is perfect timing! I saw Genarro s original pasta making video years ago, but I couldn t remember his name to find it. This is EXACTLY what I wanted. Thank you!

It is a rather good VR-Quality. But why? I am not going to get my oculus to watch this: D And otherwise I don't need VR. But still, nice kitchen though.
