Some people can't see the forest for the trees. The main benefit of a cauliflower crust versus a wheat crust is you are making an substitution that has more nutrients, less carbs, and is likely more easily digestible. Just because you are not a celiac does not mean there are no reasons to eat something gluten free; just as much as there's no reason for someone who eats dead flesh to not eat vegan food. If you eat meat it's still okay to eat a bean burrito. If you aren't celiac it's still okay to eat a cauliflower crust. Consider that most pizza is made with bleached, bromated, refined white flour and no whole grains, this is a healthier alternative. I prefer Neapolitan pizza but I have made this and it's good. Different; but really good for a vegetable pizza, which is what it is.

I'm going to try it out but if you are vegan then you should exclude anything that contains dairy by all means. I don't even know what pecorino is, never came across this ingredient but I know enough to know that mozzarella has dairy and If you want to make a complete gluten free pizza then any form of dairy products should be excluded from your recipe Don't you think? I will put an end to ordering gluten free pizza after watching this video. I'm kinda becoming a mini master chef Canada. Let the innovation begin. My so called future kids will be so pleased with me.

Foodwishes did this. I was suspicious at the time, but I really appreciated it when the guy described it as a classic case of managing expectations. He basically said it wasn't great, but was a better way to make shitty cauliflower less shitty. I think people really appreciate that kind of thing, rather than describe everything they make as the best thing they're ever tasted. Not saying this video does that. I struggle to believe that she really enjoyed that bite though.

I was sceptical to try this at first because other recipes squeezed the liquid out of the cauliflower (which seems like a pain to do. Anyway I gave it a try and IT WORKED. The pizza base is actually really tasty, healthy and smells so nice when in the oven. This recipe is one of my favourites now and I I change my toppings based on what I have in the fridge (courgettes, peppers, spinach, whatever leftover. Thanks for sharing such an easy, healthy recipe: )

I have always had kind of middling results with cauliflower crusts--the middle never seems to crisp up and is always kind of mushy, falls apart, etc. I do think the addition of oats would help, and I have never seen that suggestion before, so I might try again! As someone else pointed out in the comments, you can also squeeze the water out of the cauliflower after ricing it. Sometimes barely any water yielded, and sometimes it was a whole cup!

to all the the sceptics commenting on vegetarianism, gluten free etc, would it harm you all to try something different for a change? Do you always have to have a margherita or pepperoni pizza? Do you always have to have everything with meat or white flour? No! So, just be open minded! It's also food! It might be delicious, just try it and than have an opinion!

I have no problem with gluten, however this is not the one single potentialy harmful factor when it comes to processed flours. This pizza base is a great alternative to the common doughs, it really tastes great-with a special way-and it does'nt take hours of resting. Plus the combination of the toping is excellent.

can you use flax or chia seed egg substitute for actual eggs. can you use brown rice flour, chickpea flour, tapioca flour, arrowroot powder, instead of the oat, even if I use Gluten Free oats, still allergic. looking for similar consistency with AIP substitutions. would vegan cheese go well with this?

That looks delicious! I want a food processor for my birthday! I'm going to share this with my brother. He and his wife eat gluten free a lot and I know they will like this recipe! Mozzarella is sooo tasty! I have never had buffalo mozzarella before! What does it taste like compared to cow mozzarella?

I made this recipe from Annas book A Modern Way to Eat and I have to say that this is soooooo good. Instead of Anna's tomato sauce, I made the classic marinara sauce though (tomatos, garlic, salt, sugar, herbs, cooking at least 20 min. I usually don't like pizzas but this one was delish!
