Today Im going to show you how to make your own yellow pickled radish, called danmuji in Korean. Its a crispy, tangy, refreshing side dish and an essential ingredient in gimbap, Korean seaweed rice rolls.

I've found danmuji in the nearest grocery store. They sell one big radish around IDR 50, 000 which is KRW 4, 105. While I'm not sure whether it's cheap or expensive, one thing I'm sure of, I don't think I can gobble up one big tube of radish alone XD
I'll try following your recipe instead. Just need to get smaller radishes.

maangchi can i use saffron for the color? Bcoz gardenia fruit is so hard to find in my country, and If i use turmeric im afraid the flavour will be too strong. But what do you think maangchi, safron or turmeric? Which one is better?

Hi Maanchi! I love your recipes! Can I use annatto seeds instead of the gardenia fruit? Or will turmeric be a better alternative? Any replacements for rice bran too? Thanks!
