Ginseng chicken soup (in Korean, Samgyetang) is a hot, steaming, delicious dish that features a small chicken stuffed with rice, ginseng, garlic, and jujube. You have to commit to eating a whole chicken all by yourself when you sit down for a bowl of samgyetang! But its totally worth it.

I will try this, very different cooking styles and dishes, hope my Mom and my husband approves ( picky eaters, so set in their own ways lol) i love the way you cook. You wash your hands all the time and keep everything clean. I dont feel like a clean freak anymore because I do the same thing, and my Mom always complains that I take too long when I am cooking. And youre funny!

The flavors on this are absolutely fantastic it just balances really well together ginseng also garlic just let off a nice little softly abit crunchy onto palate and that chicken is super tender and juicy in every single bite just completely falls apart. This one is the best for main course recipe. Great job and definitely deserve a thumb up!

I go to Korea by Ship, & enjoy Korean food, specially whole chicken with rice inside, & Sea food Soup with noodles. Now i know the process & names. Im from India, really loved your details, . Thanks a lot. Saw many videos of yours with my wife, who infact loves Korean serials.

I found this in the frozen food section at H-Mart. The entire frozen chicken stuffed with the ginseng, jujubes, rice and garlic. I'm supposed to boil it in the bag it's in apparently? I'm making it now, so hopefully it turns out ok! If not, I'll try it from scratch!

I had this dish in Jan 2011 on a Xmas / NY holiday to South Korea, we went to a restaurant that specialized in this dish, it was a very interesting experience and loved the side dishes that came with it. Definitely warmed me up from the snow and cold

Hi Maangchi, I've noticed that when I go out to Korean restaurants the Samgyetang's chicken bones were so soft that it became edible. Do you know how long it takes to cook on a low heat to achieve this?

10 minutes before it is finished, put it in the oven with broil for a few minutes to get the crispy skin. So you have delicious broth, crispy skin, delicious chicken and filling.
