This morning we got up early and cheered on my husband while he participated in a 10K run. The weather may have been great for running, but for the rest of us it was really cold. I decided to make one of my favorite childhood soups called fideo. This Mexican-style soup is versatile and can also be a great winter meal. Be sure to like this video and SUBSCRIBE INGREDIENTS 1 to 1/2 lbs beef steak or ground beef 1 tsp salt 1/2 garlic powder 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp onion powder 5 oz box of Vermicelli 1/2 small onion 3 small potatoes (I used gold potatoes) 2 Roma tomatoes 2 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp ground cumin 4 to 5 cups beef broth (or water) 1 dried bay leaf season and salt to taste The best fideo recipe I make Fideo Con Carne y Papas Sopita De Fideo

Oh wow! This soup is exactly what I need today, Angelica! We're on day 11 of snow storms all day, every day. Hot and comforting soup is now on the menu for today!
Well, maybe tomorrow. I have some lamb ready to go for Shepherds Pie today, so we'll have the soup tomorrow. There's one small Mexican market up here in northern Michigan and I happened to find the fideo noodles there a while back, so I've been waiting for inspiration to use them. They can wait one more day, and, thanks to you, I now know exactly how to use them! I love it!
Thank you so much, Dear Friend!

Hi A! Nice to see your Hubby and Sons. Your soup looks mighty delish to me. I put ingredients for soup on my grocery list for tomorrow. One day Im going to try this. I like the tiny noodles but. I cook them on the side and just add them to my bowl. Thanks for this recipe. Pretty Kitty. Great Video.

I will be trying your recipe as it looks so delicious. Where I live it is very cold and rainy, as well. I hate days like this as I grew up in Florida and prefer a nice sunny day. However, I'm always on the lookout for a great soup recipe and yours fits the bill. Thanks for sharing your recipes with us.

Great footage at the opening! I’m definitely not a runner but I’m totally with you on soup! I made alphabet sopita with tomato, onion and zucchini mixed in yesterday and your potato flautas. It was the coziest meal I’ve had this season. Thankfully it was cold in the Austin area.

This looks so delicious! Your videos themselves are so comforting to me, growing up in San Antonio your cooking style is spot on for me. We grew up on those yellow boxes of fideo from HEB lol. Hope you and your family have a great holiday season. Merry Christmas!

I making this recipe several times a year with little quesadillas to dip in the soup. I like to add some zucchini into the mix along with papas and ground beef. It’s so easy and comforting this time of year.

Question: what brand of Vermicelli pasta is that in your video, please I got Muellers Vermicelli pasta noodles but I would like to find the brand your using! Thank you in advance!

With the fideos, if there are leftovers, do they soak up all the liquid and ruin the texture Or does toasting them first prevent that It looks so good, but I always have leftovers.

I wonder how calf (as in, the lower part of leg) would do for this - it's one of the cheaper parts and used lots here for beef goulash. I might try it that way.

Love seeing your beautiful family. The boys are getting so big. Oh and love every recipe too including fideo. I made it the first time you made it. It was so yum!

My beloved Abuela used to add beans to her Fideo and would mash some of them to thicken the sopa which almost turned into a pudding. Deeelish!

So bomb! I made it and it was delicious I used tomato sauce instead of real tomatoes to make it easy lol I added zucchini too. Yummy.
