I'm SO grateful you shared this video when you did, it was literally perfect timing! I bought my onion starts the day before your video went live. I bought two 6 pack of starts. One with Walla Walla, and one with white sweet onions, I thought I just needed to plant each cell. Learning that we could separate each start out & plant them individually was quite perfect. I watched your video & then my kids & I went out & planted 50 Walla Walla shoots. It was very fun learning & planting with my children.

I think the best selection of varieties is when you buy seeds. It is beauce you can buy seeds from all over the world. I prefer planting sets, just because it is easy. I recomend it for beginners also. Beginners usualy dont care about the exact variety, so the lack of is not a problem. What I dont like about planting the seedlings is the storage time. You can store seeds or sets all winter and they do just fine.

I hit the like button about 35 times. This is the most complete and concise video I have watched on onions thus far.
Thank you for all the information, and also for not dragging out a 16 minute video into a 40 minute chat session/advertisement.
Walla Walla seeds and starts have been waiting until our frost is no longer a threat; now I have what I need to successfully fingers crossed grow onions!

Thank you so much, not only am I learning a ton, but I'm trying to teach my 8 year old cousin to art of growing our own produce. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and making it so easy to follow. You stay on subject and are a delight to listen to. Even my cousin says she makes so elementary. I said that's what it looks like when you find something that you enjoy. Again much appreciation.

Hi Laura! I have planted onion sets this spring. The leaves are not growing upward and somehow bending down. Almost all in that bed are like that. What do you think I did for them to bend down. I havent had good luck yet with onions since I started gardening 3 years ago. Thank you for all your informative videos. You inspired me a lot. Stay safe and keep healthy. Kisses for benjamin.

So, I'm pretty concerned to see you are growing food in plastic. If it is not a food grade plastics can leach chemicals. It's especially a concern in a very hot climate. There are many differing opinions of course but I use only food grade, they are easy to find and economical. Please look into this Laura. Other than what you planted in I loved the helpful info.
