LOVE Hydrangeas! I have several! (climbing, mopheads, oakleaf, incrediballs, and recently tuffstuff) I'm in zone 6 in Oakville ON Canada - with a suburb lot that is tiny in comparison to yours. Needless to say I have run out of space but your container idea gives me an idea. Would they over winter? no greenhouse or cold frame to put them into as the weather dips. If I did use a pot how large would it have to be and which one of the beauties would you start with? What will you do with yours come winter?
Thanks!

Hi, I have over 30+ Hydrangea's & like you we have (zone 6b) strong winds, KS plains, Heat & Cold, humidity along with clay soil, High ph & the dreaded chlorosis. It's funny to me as like Aaron I have augered in Iron Tone, done the chelated iron thing. My hydrangeas are gorgeous however, it is a struggle. With my Oakleafs I do have them in Unique Stone pots. All of the other hydrangeas do great with my attention. Good luck with your hydrangea endeavors.

I have found that my hydrangeas do best in containers. I tried in the ground and they just didnt do well-zone 9b Northern California. In the pots they love it. Ipull them every other year, trim their roots, add new soil and voila-good to go. I just bought the Wee Bit Grumpy in the spring and it was blue-I thought it would be purple but so far not. Yours is pink- strange to me. It shows it purple on the tag too. Cant wait to see how yours do-good luck.

Very timely video moved to a new home and just trying to sort the garden out.
Have a hydrangea that needed rescuing it had been planted in totally the wrong spot, not enough sun
Have put it into a pot on the patio just into potting mix, trimmed it slightly just to give some shape.
Keep your fingers crossed, your videos are so helpful with some great ideas. Thank you

I am the great killer of hydrangeas. My climate is too tough as well living in 9b with at times winter at 34F low and summer highs, well this week up to 113F with this high pressure system all us West coasters are facing. Though normally expect 100 in July. No amount of shade will help with that heat. Maybe I will try the potted route. one more try before I give them up completely. Xx

These are beautiful plants, quick question. I had a purple potted hydrangea that I planted in my landscape about 4 years ago, not sure of the type but every year it keeps growing in size but wont bloom. Is there anything I can do to help it to bloom? Cant seem to figure it out, it gets at least 6 hours of sun each day, and is regularly watered every day but no blooms. HELP!

I bought an Ah-Ha Tuff Stuff and first i put it in shade as it was recommended to me that it may be too hot in my 7a zone to plant in sun. It did not bloom at all! I moved it into full sun and now the leaves are burning! I can't seem to find a spot for this hydrangea in central Maryland. Any suggestions?

I just planted 3 Proven Winner Little Limelights this year and they are blooming now. I watered them everyday. I alternated watering the root ball direct or around outside of plant. Used soil mix and flower tone in hole when I planted in early sprimg. I am happy.
