Love this tech videos amazing all that you can learn to avoid crappy marketing fool you, thanks.
And thank to confirm that I must stay away from asRock... didn't misunderstanding me maybe asRock has some good boards, but seeing this video and my experience with and z270 board (cheap components, bad finish on the board, and many other things...) I'll never go with them.
One thing that I hate most is the example you put with the I/O shield, reusing from a model that has wifi for one that not... it's lazy as hell not making the I/O shield correctly simply to shave some cost form our product lines, and gives a feel of cheap product.

2019 Everyone whinging Why is there a 40mm Fan on the Chipset Cooler, they are noisy
2020 ASRock Let's put 3 40mm Fans on the VRM Cooler, it will be Awesome
I'm wondering how many reviewers will say what a good thing 40mm VRM Fans that are constantly on are to help dissipate heat on Z490 OC M/B, after all the crap they gave AMD for needing a 40mm fan only on under lengthened PCIe4 transfer speed load to dissipate Chipset heat

Well, right now I wouldn't buy any Intel board, so I don't really care
Really hope Asrock would (again) up their game (I was around when they made the cheapest trash on market and now it seems they make not cheapest crap...)
Been using Asrock for a long time and getting x570 Taichi for my next build... Gonna wait for a while still, as the new CPUs and stuff is around the corner...

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like this is a video that explains over and over why this board is terrible and awful and then details its unique features. Look at this terrible VRM setup! Also it's going to be cooler than anything else at this price point because of the heatsink which is also terrible. Please ignore where I said it was going to be extremely effective cooling before.

I would really like to know your educational background because you seem to really know your stuff.
BTW, You mentioned that other manufacturers offer 8 SATA ports on Z490 but according to what I found, only ASRock and ASUS offer 8 SATA ports and the cheapest ASUS board that does so is the Maximus XII Apex at 420. The only other board is ASRock's Z490 Taichi

Z490 in general is an engineering abomination. Daisychain everywhere, terrible 4 dimm overclocking as a result. Huge downgrade from T-top. Terrible buggy bioses from ASUS as well so far. Scammy expensive chipset. Fans to keep VRM cool on cheaper boards because they are turd. Even mid range boards like Prime don't get op amp for die sense so voltages are weird.

It's kinda sad to see what kind of brand is ASRock becoming... Z270 Extreme4 was killer value, on Z170 they also had w few nice motherboards. And today they are cutting costs wherever possible... Gigabyte had similar approach not so long ago but they saw reviews and that nobody was buying their crap and today they make quite good products

Has anyone else noticed that asus has removed the post code readout from their (quite expensive) mid to highend ish strix motherboards too? I have a maximus vii gene with the readout and it's super helpful for overclocking but if I wanted a new system with an matx board, there isn't one with the display! (from asus that is)

I can't wait to see PCB Breakdown for other asrock motherboard! in my eyes, velocita was least dissapointing M/B from asrock in terms of price/perf... at least it's VRM won't be overheat by 10700K like Extreme 4 and lower, and at least have any advantage over competing motherboard, unlike taichi.
