going in-depth on everything to do with protein and building muscle so let's get after it. --NEW Dwight: There is detriment to too much protein-especially too much animal protein-it could lead to renal stress and even renal damage-and if you have CKD it is a real. Once RN-plant-based protein is less stress on renal function-. the RDA for protein is -0. 8 G per kg of lean body weight-and many Americans don-t get this in each day-that-s an issue too. For longevity and health more and more research shows you want to avoid the metabolic syndrome, you should consider intermittent fasting [not for type I diabetics]. If you have type II diabetes you can reverse your metabolic disease by losing weight and using intermittent fasting-. a real expert in nutrition/endocrinology is ideal to guide your diet plan/monitoring. Building muscle at the level of an elite athlete takes a long time [years] and resistance training and it must continue forever. The consumption of protein without that form of exercise doesn-t work to add lean muscle-DDC MD-not spell checked for expediency

Still don't know how many grams I should shoot for. As a fat F----- 300, I'm guessing my BMI is prolly close to 35%, which using Nippard's take, would put me somewhere in the 195lb range of lean mass, so at 1. 5G per lb, I'm at 292. 5g of protein per day, which screams kidney failure.
I'm shooting for 200g on running on 2300cal deficit, which is requiring alot of supplementing, because even tho I've let myself go, I can't hardly eat all the calories and get down the damn protein.
Dropped 15lbs in 3 weeks running the deficit and getting some pretty huge gains following the high rep-mind muscle connection that Humi preaches.

What about -mass builder- supplements? I buy high end protein, which is expensive. However I-m not receiving child support and I have to buy groceries for my son and I. Can-t afford to buy that much lean meat right now, although I will be hunting in a few days. Are they worth it? I-ve been seeing growth with protein alone. I-m really happy with it. But I need about 250g minimum per day to maintain weight and what I-m currently at in muscle mass. I was hoping to throw a mass builder shake in the mix, due to price, to help absorb some cost of protein. Thoughts?

The chances are that your fat ass needs way less protein than your scales tell you. Because you are not a 100% efficient machine, you need to ingest 40-50g of protein to digest and utilise 30g of it. So for me, at 106kg, I eat for 95-100kg of me, and take in 3 x 50g protein per day, with probably another 20g of protein sneaking in there through my carb sources. By my reckoning, that gives me around 100g +/- change, of working viable proteins in my system, and I haven't had any results to indicate different.

everybody is so concerned with protein. i am also a vegan and getting the recommended 1. 5-2g of protein per pound would have me well over 3000 calories a day. What about prison inmates, they eat trash and they get great results the same way we do, high reps. i Think there is to much emphasis on this stuff. You ever seen a horse eat a steak, chicken and rice? protein shakes? I understand they are genetically engineered to build muscle but they put on 1000lb of muscle with grass and water, nothing else

If you want the highest protein % per gram you can-t beat lupins. Grown in Western Australia. They are a legume, and lupin flour has 38-41grams of protein per 100grams. I-m a farmer, I just grow the stuff but a company that I have nothing to do with sells 15kg of lupin flour for $100 aus I think. Google lupinco. It could-ve a good way to keep protein higher while lowering calories. I think they will get into protein powder in the coming years

And i sometimes eat 60-80 grams at one meal
For instance tonight
Protein shake 35gm
30 minutes later
2 chicken breast (45gm)
Yes it-s that easy
The isolate protein breaks down quickly but the chicken takes more time
You can usually tell if you have too much protein and your body isn-t using it
You get very gassy

Great video. I'm 52 and have been working out since my mid teens. After all the experimenting I have done I can say with certainty that BCAAs work for me. I only take them after working out for recovery purposes, and not all are created equal, but I have had success and quicker recovery times when taking them vs not taking them.

Keeping your gut a decent PH and prioritizing absorption is more important than obsessing over your protein intake. Just eat a large meal that involves a heavy meat portion every day, eat a few eggs - you'll get more than enough.
Protein powder is shit and a scam. Got achy joints? Gas? Stomach pains? Stop eating dumb powder.

Thank you for the unique perspective you provide. It-s difficult to find good information without some sort of financial agenda behind it(I love Capitalism, but we must recognize it-s unique tendencies and work around them, and yes, it-s better than socialism) keep up the good work spreading reliable information!
