There is (or at least used to be, don't know if it's still there) another track that takes you to a hill a few miles from the base where you can look down on some of it. Take that track though and you'll have a black humvee or two keeping an eye on you and you'll reach a sign that clearly tells you to go away with a warning that Use of deadly force is authorised. At that point we decided it would be best to follow the advice and go away.

This is way, way more interesting than what happened to me when I went there, which was absolutely nothing. We even saw them let in another vehicle and I took a photo behind the no trespassing sign, so anticlimactic. Did you guys check out the Lil Ale'inn They have some decent pie and plenty of interesting conversation with the locals.

I did this 10 years go. I remember stopping at the start of the paved road, which coincided with the road starting to ascend a small hill. There was a truck positioned at the top of the hill. No-one accidentally gets that far down that road, and I think you were luck not to get into any trouble for getting there.

This was definitely a fun adventure. The siren will make you jump. Fun day trip in Vegas. Miss Vegas haven’t been in a few years. Definitely up on this one Noel. Much appreciated for sharing your experience.

You need to do a flight review of the secret airline that flies out of Las Vegas to area 51, see if they will let you do a loo review! The planes they use appear to be very old 737's.

Yep, that truck was a camo dude. I've spotted that vehicle in other recent pictures perched up on the more famous of the roads into A51 perched up on the hill to the right
