Chrissy Teigen Instagram Backlash, Breastfeeding Blackmail, Thailand Cave Rescue, Elon Musk & More Digital Craze: If narrow minded people would see the importance of breastfeeding, and not be so quick to jump on others who see this for what it is, a natural function to supply nourishment to babies, then we would have more mothers who would feel a lot better about feeding their babies when and where it's needed. I bet the same nay sayers are out there posting beautiful photos of animals breastfeeding their young, and think nothing of it(new subject) Elon Musk saw a need. He had the means and took action. For all we know those boys could have been left in that cave for 4 months until conditions were better. I didn't see anyone else come up with a better solution, except for those who were already taking action and risking lives to rescue those boys. As Musk said, his mini sub may not help now, but could in the future. What was so wrong with that? Funny how the world has to see bad in the good that people do. Btw Phil, love your program

If exploitation of a tragedy is such a horrible issue, certainly the news would be focusing in other stuff around the world, no? Because hour by hour updates about something most people on the world are not able to do anything at all to help is not necessarily helpful or needed. I can understand criticism for exploiting the tragedy by Elon Musk, but really, he deployed resources and got in contact with the government to offer assistance and developed something that can be useful in rescue operations. But I guess we'd rather be enraged by ALLEGED character flaws than giving some praise for trying to help. But hey, at least now that the kids are safe, we can all pretend it was a team effort of every single pair of eyes and ears that was eager for updates. There is so much shit going on that deserves attention and still we are wasting time with useless outrage.

From what I can tell, even if Elon Musk is using it as a marketing strategy of sorts, he's still absolutely working on a solution which could help, if not now, in the future. Most people would just send words of encouragement, and say they're working on a solution with no real results coming out, if they could help at all. Edit: Another thing is, even if you're doing something good just for the PR of it, it shouldn't take away from the actual good that you're accomplishing unless you are limiting yourself to the Best looking sides of it. On top of that, if people are discouraged from doing good things because other people see it as bad and that those people are only wanting recognition for it, that means that there's less good in the world, which is kind of a shame.

Regarding Elon Musk, I don't know that I interpret his actions as neatly falling into either of the options you provided. In my opinion, to be honest, that is assuming he has more social intelligence than he actually does. I believe it literally never occurred to him independently to create something that could meet this need. Once he saw the posts, he then just wanted to share his thoughts and progress (because I think he assumes everyone wants to know his every thought. In my opinion, he is being manipulative nor overly magnanimous. My impression is that he is just oblivious to how his actions may be interpreted by others. I assume he just wants to share his progress with the public he assumes wants to see it.

Elon's that guy who feels like he needs to give advice to everyone, even when he's not asked. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that, just that it is often seen in a negative light socially. People usually don't like others Chiming In when it's None of their business. (In quotes because those are the most common phrases I hear when I do this(just can't help it) In Elon's case, it makes sense as he is a cleaver individual who has the capital to get thing's done and has a large enough platform to get the word out. I just think people are taking it the way they are because they don't have a positive emotional connotation with unprompted suggestions or advice.

Watching this late, so it probably won't be read; Breastfeeding creeps me out. But that's mostly because babies creep me out. That said, I'd never ask anyone else to conform to my creep-outdedness if it meant sacrificing the proper care of their children. While I never want children. EVER. I still think that every child should have the best upbringing possible. In some cases that's breastfeeding. Even in public. Even if I lose my appetite because of it. I hate seeing breastfeeding, but I hate the idea that it's ever discussed as being taboo even more. Even those who can't breastfeed shouldn't ever feel that they can't for social issues.

Based from my personal experience, not breastfeeding a child can be unhealthy. My mother and my cousin's mother both chose not to breastfeed us, not because of some hipster reason or whatever, but because they were told that their milk had problems with it and were advised by the doctors not to breastfeed. Yes, it lead to health issues, but according to the doctors it was better in the long run because we might have developed worse problems. Basically, I believe that women should breastfeed if they think it's best. If they aren't sure if their milk is any good, then they probably should check with a doctor.

With the breast feeding thing I think it's a little weird. It's fine if you want to publicly breast feed and what not but I think sharing it with millions of people is a little narcissistic, and saying that people share things that you don't want to hear about all the time is not the same because breastfeeding is essential but so is something like idk peeing. it just isn't something that I wanted to know about, but it's different than something I didn't want to know about and was told about anyways like shitty pop music, it's breastfeeding. Idk the whole thing is just bizarre.

in regards to the Elon Musk/Thailand Rescue situation portion of your show, it has been shown time and again, that while innovation may not arrive in time to prevent one tragedy, or situation, the advancement of technology can make a future situation easier and smoother to deal with resulting in the loss of less lives or property damage, so i would say to all those who are saying that he is exploiting the situation first shut up and secondly get rid of all your tech because if it wasnt for situations of the past you would have your smart phones, gps, Internet, or smart tv's

I love that the Gal Gadot and Elon Musk story were in the same video because I think they are very similar. You yourself said that what Gal was doing might be a PR stunt but regardless she is doing something that is improving the lives of others. If Elon is doing this solely or partially for PR, does it matter, he is still doing something that may not help in this scenario but could in future cases. I don't think that he should be attacked for his actions, rather having conversations about what would have been the most effective aid effort.
