PewDiePie's Congratulations Trojan Horse, Beyonce Outrage, Nipsey Hussle, & Wild Ukraine Election Laura Laura: About the Beyonce thing: Uncomfortable situations like that happen in life. It's not always a 'men putting women in uncomfortable situations' thing. Shit like this can happen to anyone. I (as a woman) have also been put in situations where someone went in for a kiss while I was not completely ready/comfortable with it. But then you just get over it and move on definitely if you know it wasn't meant in a bad way. On the other hand, it has also happened a few times to me that I kissed someone (both men and women) and I realized too late that that person was uncomfortable with it. It's awkward for both sides. I don't know what the situation is exactly here, if the two have met before or not. But it just seems like it was not ill-intended or anything, it seemed like it was just an akwardly timed and misjudged moment. At most you can call out to him and say 'Dude, you obviously made her uncomfortable. Please pay more attention next time or be a bit more aware of other people's personal space before you try to kiss them to make sure they are alright with it. But I don't think he deserves hate.

basically, for any who dont know, the story was that Jessie smollet had a suspicious incident where two masked men came up behind him, threw a rope around his neck, said some racist stuff, but he managed to get away. somehow. His stories didnt line up, there were leaked texts between him and two Nigerian fellows, I think even a video of him paying them, and they were the two masked men. Theres pretty much undeniable proof that he faked this hate crime. Thousands of dollars and many hours of police times where they could have been working on real crimes were lost thanks to him, and he ended up getting off with a 10, 000 dollar fee. To put this in perspective, hes a millionaire. Ten thousand is like twenty bucks to him. Hurts to give up, but he has so much money its barely impactful.

I am so done with this outrage culture going after people through the social media and for celebrities the actual media just to try to destroy careers its complete bulls#t. If you do something and it's illegal then by all means prosecute it thats totally understandable but run of the mill social awkwardness that one accidentally commits being weaponized to try and take someone down thats just wrong. Honestly is this really the way we want to live as a people with this lowest commen denominator way of doing things people have to see it's not helping us as a society. This is appealing to peoples worst qualities and their really base need for drama this is not the way forward.

How can you stand with someone you lied about being a victim of hate crime and evidently hurt people both in the LGBTQ+ and black community? Im from Chicago and to see everything go down was so disgusting, especially because when the news first broke out I had no reason not to believe him and that shit was broken the moment he basically paid the city so he wouldnt go to jail. He aint innocent cause if he was there would be no reason for him to pay.

Its a piece of culture to kiss women on the cheek when you meet them. Thats how it has been since a really long time ago. So if u dont want to be kissed on the cheek or wherever then tell the guy. If women as a collective dont want this to be a thing anymore then get a petition where a majority is against it thats all. Nobody can read your minds, speak up about it. Five people yelling at people wont change anything.

I think the thing about Jussie is an example of someone wanting to stand with another artist of colour because of the history and making a stand, but you just make yourself look foolish supporting someone who lied and race baited, but you'll say fake news about other stuff, if people aren't consistent with criticism it just makes them a hypocrite

I hate that social media tried to make this man look bad. The thing is. I don't even think the mans lips touched B's face. It was nothing. Not to overlook either. In many social situations people are uncomfortable. They were quick kisses and he was out of there. No one was having a massive make out.

Philip, I just want to say that you did an amazing job covering the Nipsey story. You highlighted the legacy he left in such a beautiful way with the few seconds you had. I commend you for it, and I encourage you to continue to report on stories/issues that largely affect minority communities.

Thank you so much for covering Ukrainian politics, Philip. I was doubtful that you would go into more detail about the history of corruption and the revolutions, but you did. I really enjoyed your summary and thought it quite accurate, concise and thorough. Much love, xx

I'd never heard of Nipsey Hussle before but he sounds like a genuinely good person. Not enough rappers use their platform and experience to try and make actual change in the world. It sucks he's dead but he did a lot of good in his lifetime and his message will live on
