WOW Youtube's New Adpocalypse Fight, Chris Evans, Continued Whistleblower Fallout Explained, & More Flowering Flame: The James Dean story frustrates me immensely. I act, and the idea that instead of casting someone whos alive and is trying to make ends meet through this craft, they cast someone who has been dead for decades makes me sick. Dont get me wrong, I really do enjoy the few movies James Dean was in, but I would never ever consent to this under most circumstances. Nobody will use my image after my death in this way unless the character is well established. And anyway, James Dean could never have even fathomed something like this happening, as this technology is so new. I hope that the people making this movie realize that this is an idea which will affect many who act for a living, like I plan to.

I'm a little bit split on the James Dean thing. While I do understand that because this isn't the real person it's essentially just using their image and reputation for the publicity of it. You don't get any of their actual acting ability or personality to shine through because it's not really them. On the other hand I think this is also a chance for people to experience celebrities who died before their time. Being able to see Michael Jackson in concert or Freddie Mercury up on the stage once again even if you weren't able to experience them while they were alive and as technology gets better it's only going to get closer and closer to the real thing. thinking outside of celebrities I can't imagine what kind of positive and negative applications it would be used for if you can essentially imitate a real person. personally I think it's perfectly fine to do as long as it's: A) Carefully monitored to ensure its a close to the real person as possible. B) making sure it isn't tainting them in anyway (like retroactively inserting james dean into footage of a pedophile ring or some shit) personally I think I have much less of a problem with this in music and I think going forward we're probably going to see celebrities talking about whether they want this to be an option or not upon their death. we're just going to have to get through the growing pains first

This conversation about using the dead for profit, really isn't new. They've been doing it for decades. Look at songs used in games from people long and dead, and yet filed under companies who are taking adrev and it goes where again? Like seriously, when did Bach who died in 1750 sign a record deal with WMG? oh right, they weren't even born yet. Let alone conversations of remixes that happen all the time, you're using a dead persons craft, art, etc. to remake to generate profit, NOT FOR THEM, but everyone seems cool with that. Until suddenly now, where a bunch of ppl who didn't know the guy, want to chime in, cause it might impact their acting career cause its less money towards them, or the thought that their families think so highly, or lowly of them, they'll reuse their deadness in a cpl decades for profit. Long story short: his family gave consent, cry more.

I usually dont comment but I think its wrong to use James Deans image in the movie. Obviously if the family is okay with it then, we cant do much about it but I feel like using that kind of technology just seems out of place? Id understand better if an actor had died prematurely before getting to see the story through to the end, or something of that nature. In this case however it just seems excessive. I dont believe that using James Deans image will benefit the quality of the film all that much, especially when theres living actors right now who could benefit so much from the exposure/money that they could receive from being in the movie.

Honestly about the James Dean thing, they said they researched and settled on James Dean cause of the complex character arcs of the character, the main reason I see actors upset is these directors are saying they cannot perform complex character arcs, they are not good at the craft, they are not giving new actors a chance, or even existing actors a chance to tell the story because they already decided we want James Dean. Family approval or not, it is a huge slight to actors. So yeah its wrong. The team is using it for the name and the technology, rather than casting an actor who is alive who they know can pull off complex character arcs.

So you'll point out that somebody on Twitter didn't like your use of explicit language, but completely sidestep the myriad of people pointing out that your story on climate change in the last video was factually incorrect in multiple respects pertaining to China and India and their efforts in adhering to the Paris Agreement. And while on the subject of ads, if I were that mother I'd be more concerned about you giving a minute-long slot every few videos to advertise a Freemium game developed by a company owned by the second largest slot machine manufacturer on the planet.

It does not seem right in my opinion what they are doing to the actors. It seems to me like if this thing works out there will be no need to find up, and coming actors. Only voice actors. Not to mention it is kinda like digging someone out of a grave, and putting their skin on someone else. In my opinion about the makers of that movie. How did they decide to pick someone based on character arcs, and character development when they can't even act anymore. It will only be as good as whoever is wearing him. It will not be the same talent.

I feel like if it was a recreation of something that actually happened, it would be fine. We do that whenever we watch a movie where one of the actors has passed away. If you're trying to create something new with that likeness and are doing it in a way where they haven't done it (i. e. you're not just showing a clip of something from previous) you're doing a disservice to them. Even if they would've wanted to do it, they haven't specifically said yes. Using their image in that way just feels disrespectful.

11: 35 Here's what I think busy Phil, The actors complaining about the CG actors, are just worried that they will lose out on money or jobs in the future. Its a fair concern. But that's all it is. The other stuff. is just a cover I think, so they don't come off as self serving. I mean, on the radio we hear the voices of long dead singers. Its a computer reproducing their voice. It may be an Mp3 file. but that file has data a computer uses to produce a song. Video is just a step up.
