WOW Vanessa Hudgens' Coronavirus Cancelling, Explaining Trump's BIG FLIP, Voting Confusion, & MrSlowestD16: I don't know who vanessa hudgens is, but I'm not really mad at her for that statement. I mean yeah it was poorly executed, and yeah if I was immunocompromised I may feel bad, but she wasn't attacking anybody. She was simply saying she doesn't think this will last all the way until July. and as somebody who is not a virologist myself, I agree. Maybe we're wrong though? Who knows, but I can't imagine that, and I think that's all she was saying judging by the clip shown. It's gonna be shitty, there will be some fatalities, but unfortunately we only have so much control over the situation. It's not bad to tell the truth, even if that hurts somebody. It wasn't done to hurt them. I don't know, whatever. People on twitter will always be angry about something. Trump: He's just trying to appease people, don't take anything he says seriously. When he thought it wouldn't hit hard here he tried to downplay it to make it sound like nothing is an issue for the US, and he held onto that too long, but now he's in the right train of thought so let's continue with that. I don't think him not thinking it would be a huge deal was wrong, it took the WHO forever just to declare it a pandemic. Plenty of valid ground to attack him on, I don't think that's part of it, though. Forgetting? No, nobody will shut up about it, definitely not forgetting. Wish I was forgetting, but that's about it. Hopefully it blows over soon. Voting: It would be nice if mail-in was allowed, but as that one guy said, you can't roll shit like that out overnight. It sucks, but for now the rules are what they are per-state for this election.

So few people seem to be talking about the huge impact this whole situation is having on minimum wage employees at supermarkets. Staff morale is basically gone, people are coming to terms with the fact that we will be expected to work until we get Cov-19, supermarkets will not be closing so that people can still buy food, so employees are being told they will be expected to just keep working, some even have contracts that mean they have mandatory overtime they are forced to work. The stress of that alone is insane but that's ignoring the huge impact on work this crisis is having, with the panic buying driving higher stock orders that colleagues just can't keep up with, pressure building more and more and eventually something is going to snap. We have loved ones who are at risk too, and being minimum wage employees we can't exactly isolate them somewhere else. Here we have CSP that will cover our wages provided by our supermarket but others in other countries or businesses are not so lucky and won't be able to afford to self isolate, so what should they do? Not to mention 0 hour contracts and those reliant on over time pay that won't be covered by CSP at all. There is a collapse building beneath the surface that nobody is talking about as the minimum wage employees are being crushed under the weight of this all between income and exposure to the virus and the insane work load being forced upon us.

I do like how you are keeping us informed and updated on the coronavirus and the state of the world but I think you are wrong in your focus Trump's previous down play of the situation. Many of the people claiming that Trump wasted his headstart on this issue were the same people saying that Trump's nearly immediate banning of flights to and from china was racist. Both of the democratic candidates were also down playing the issue saying that they wouldn't have stopped the flights to and from china. China is the one who is ultimately to blame for the silencing of the scientists and media and keeping them from informing the public. China, who you yourself call its leader whinne the pooh (and in turn have been blocked in china, is and has fabricated their handling of the situation from the beginning and should not be trusted. From what I have seen Trump has moved as fast as possible and enacted the safest measures possible, (short of ripping people from their homes and forcing them into quarantine as communist china is doing) to ensure that 1. He wasn't acting too quickly and 2. He doesn't screw business owners and the public in the process.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck working in a grocery store during all of this so I don, t get much time to 'forget' what is happening. My team and I are so stressed from all the events, and the increased amounts of people shopping (who are also exuding so much stress themselves. We are most likely, sadly, going to be forgotten as the lowly min. wage workers that aren't 'important' (which, if this virus has shown us anything, is that we def are VERY important and essential) once this is all over. I hope everyone is holding up okay. Please, don't let this time of crisis push you over the edge. If you are struggling to keep it together, talk to someone. As a person with anxiety, I know that right now it's really difficult to stay level-headed. Hang in there, guys. We are in this together.

No, everyday, as soon as I wake up, my brain reminds me we're in the midst of a pandemic. Since late December/January, after reviewing as much reliable information as was available (concerning COVID-19, & with what I know about disease transmission, I've known this was going to be bad. I'm also reminded everyday of how many people (& some STILL in denial) continued to say that others like me were overreacting or panicking. Politicians, officials from various industries, & laymen, all banded together to naysay. Most people did NOT take COVID-19 seriously at all. As per usual, it's takes mounting tragedy before most people take any real notice. I can only hope all those particular people actually learn something this time.

My view re Vanessa Hudgens and other celebrities/ social media stars like her: 1) First, and most important, no matter what they say, no one deserves to be abused online or otherwise. 2) But, in todays social media age, its far too easy for people like Vanessa and others to do silly things/ say silly things in the search for notoriety, fame and money, and then just apologise, more often than not as a damage limitation exercise rather than genuine in meaning. 3) In my opinion, the best way for society to deal with this is to ignore them and to stop following them, watching their videos and therefore stop providing them a loudspeaker for their words/actions. But do not hate.

the way she said it sounded pretty yikes, but. she's right. people are going to die, it is inevitable and extremely unfortunate. we can't cancel society for a year until the virus is gone, which wouldn't work anyway. as long as someone has it, it's gonna spread. everyone who can get it, will eventually get it. all we can do is try to flatten the curve as much as possible so the people who'll need help will have access to it. but people are going to die and it is inevitable. just, wash your hands, stay at home if you're sick and avoid gatherings of people. and do not go anywhere near any elders or people with chronic conditions.

I'm currently in Italy and we are on lockdown since the end of February. Every single day we wake up and all we hear is death and more strict restrictions, we have no freedom whatsoever. Vanessa, at the end of the day, is just speaking the truth. People dying is inevitable. clearly. We have no enough space in hospitals so doctors are literally deciding who to leave behind and let slowly and awfully pass away. Y'all have bigger problems than sitting in front of a screen and cancelling someone for what they said. We all thought/said it at some point, because that IS our reality right now. Put your energy in something else.

Forgetting about the situation is the only way I'm currently able to deal with it. Or, maybe not forgetting about it but dealing with it in a very detached manner. I'm an exchange student on a different continent from my home country, our professor said that we currently don't have a good reason to come back but my home country just put in place travel restrictions and since nobody seems to have a good guess as to how long this is gonna go on for I'm slightly worried about my flight back home (on top of all the other things that we are currently worried about.

Hello from the SW of France. As an expat, I must say it was great hearing a president speak intelligently and with scientific knowledge. and no, I dont mean 45. We are only allowed out for certain reasons and we must have a completed form every time we leave our house. Fines for not following through have gone up to over 350. I have not seen any police in my little village, but I do complete my form and carry it with me. As far as voting, I used to live in Colorado and we had mail in voting and I loved it. I will be mailing in my vote this fall from France
