Wow! DISGUSTING Subway TikTok Prank On Essential Workers Sparks Outrage, MrBeast, KSI, Wisconsin, & Jordan: People wonder why others want the states to open up again. This is why. Over 3 weeks ago me and my boyfriend tried to apply for unemployment benefits. He lost his job ( was laid off ) because of covid19, and I am self employed. Not only did the unemployment website not work 90% of the time, they denied us both unemployment benefits. We tried calling but there was an 8+ hour hold time. My apartment complex pretty much just said sorry not our problem so we had to move to a cheaper place. The apartment complex charged me 1. 8k to get out of the lease and are still making me pay 2 months rent when I am not living there. Now I am pretty 3k? in debt (not sure how much yet as the leasing agency hasn't told us) with no sign of the government helping! Thankfully my partner was able to get a job after over a month of searching and applying. We were surviving that long off of my small income alone. I also did not receive a stimulus check because I was claimed as a dependent in 2018 and 2019. Young people like me who recently moved out in 2019 or college students are suffering. We do not have savings, and most of us cannot work from home. We cannot afford to quarantine or else we can't pay our rent, or buy food. Not only does it feel like the government has abandoned us but leasing agencies/landlords as well. We need the states to open.

I work in a restaurant in Texas and as of about two weeks ago, our governor gave the greenlight to restaurants to start opening up their dining. And since then, I have been having very mixed feelings about it all. One part of me is absolutely appalled and annoyed by the customers who come in (especially those who bring their young children and especially those who don't wear masks on) to dine! Maybe I shouldn't project myself, but it is so unsettling for me to imagine even walk in a restuarant let alone sit there for almost a hour eating food. There are constantly people who are walk in and out and there is no guarantee that no one that steps foot in the building has the virus. And of course, we have tried to implement some social distancing measures like having the option to curbside with bellhops going to cars to take orders and give their good, marking where customers should stand to be six feet apart, indicating tables where customers shouldn't sit, reducing the number allowed inside. And as employees, although we have masks and gloves on and although we are trying out best to sanitize the doors hadles, tables, chairs, etc, we cannot be able to keep track of everything one person touches while also doing our everyday tasks. It is too much of a risk and I am so baffled and triggered by people who think that just because it is legal to eat in now, then it must be safe to do so, especially with no protective gear on! I live in an area of Texas where we have over 3600 documented cases as of May 12, which is the 3rd highest of all counties and still increasing! And we employees just have to deal with it cause it is our income! We are lucky to not have gotten sick so far, but maybe now our luck is running out. This is the feeling I have to suppress so that I am not treating people with this bias when I serve them. Then there's another part of me that contradicts that, because I understand that people are not used to this. What they are used to is being eating out with their family and/or friends to celebrate a Friday night, Mother's Day, a birthday, or take advantage of our Taco Tuesday deal. I cannot tell anyone to live their life, because it it their life to live. And I know that we all want this so badly, but I cannot completely respect the decision to come into an enclosed area with heavy foot traffic, and whether or not you stand 6 feet apart from the next customer, you are still passing through areas that others before you have stood and who were inhaling and exhaling constantly and had maybe coughed or sneezes and the molecules were carried in the air and settled on the back part of a chair that you touch in order to pull out and be able to sit. Then you get back up to get silverware from the dispenser and dig and dig in there till you find the one you are looking for, then before leaving you find a quarter, stick in the gumball machine, and touch the nob to turn it in around, then touch the doors again with your hands to leave the restaurant. What more is there to say.

to everyone who argues that it's not safe to reopen the economy I offer you this. the probability of a recession is insane right now. usually a 5% unemployment rate is an indication that a recession is coming. 8% being considered critical. we are over 20%. it's not safe to not reopen the economy. I don't think most people are smart enough to understand we have already done years worth of damage. you can't suddenly have 1/4 of the country go on unemployment for 1/4 of the year. that's insane. corona has killed 300k people worldwide. the flu of 2018 that didn't even make the news killed 600k. it's obvious to me that since all the experts didn't even get the arrival month correct we are already pretty far into this probably on the backside of it. They even admit a large number of people are asymptomatic, which means more then likely most people have come into contact with it. it's been here since December people. do you really think it took 6 months to cross the country? yet we ignore the 100's of thousands that will eventually die from loss of access to healthcare and good nutrition, poverty sticks around a lot longer then a virus and it devastates entire families and makes us weaker as a nation.

I currently am a senior and attended the same school as Tony Evers and got to perform with my school German band for him. That being said, I do disagree with the badger bounce back decision Tony had put forth. Most Wisconsinites, at least the ones I've talked to, do not agree with it either. I live in a county where the total number of active cases is very low (10 as of right now) and many people do not feel at risk going outside. The Wisconsin constitution also states A state of emergency shall not exceed 60 days, unless the state of emergency is extended by joint resolution of the legislature. In the case of Wisconsin Legislature v. Palm, there was a breakage of the 60 day rule by Tony and the staff. The Wisconsin Supreme Court was doing their job and voted in favor of what is stated in our constitution, not in favor of their political beliefs

I think Wisconsin made the right move, makes no since to treat all cities or towns as hard hard areas like New York. The whole point of the Federal Government to pass the responsibility to local governments was to customize rules that are right for their areas. Example if LA has a water drought you limit water consumption in LA you dont also limit water in a small town in Maine. But it seems like local governments were having a contest of how many strict rules they could enforce even if they had no Covid cases in the area. Now this lead to higher unemployment numbers that we shouldn't have right now.

My brother has severe nonverbal autism. He would not know any better if you were mocking the way he moves and sways, he would think you're dancing. He would laugh in the best way possible and try to copy you. But the problem is that you are making fun of not just him, but ALL autistic children and adults everywhere. Shame on you doesn't cover it. To think you would mock the ones who would not only do you any harm but cannot defend themselves is sick. (Note: this is NOT A LETTER TO PHIL. This is purely a note to those who think the Autism Challenge is fun or funny)

I live in wisconsin and i am conflicted bout the outcome here. Yes, COVID19 is a problem and keeping people inside limits the spread of the virus. However, one of the better defenses could be to establish herd immunity which requires 60% immunity in the general public, granted that is a controversial move since that means more people would have to be sick. But Sweden is currently using this approach and yes while they may be hit harder because of it, they might not later if this virus stays in circulation.

The increasing unemployment is an interesting point. It was a known problem that the increased unemployment benefit would incentivize people to seek excuses to draw it. I was talking with an Uber driver today who told me that many drivers had claimed the self employed unemployment benefit not because the situation wasn't manageable, but because they were going to make a great deal more than they normally would. It makes you wonder how many of these cases are due to a desire to capitalize on the situation.

I m in Ontario (Canada) & they ve just accepted basicially ALL unemployment claims and giving people the money, 2000 or 4000 a month for CERB I don t know exactly the details but basicially everyone who applies is getting it right away, and apparently they re going to go back through them later and make people pay it back? And people will have to pay some back next tax year. I have no idea it s confusing but at least people are getting money I guess
