You were really dead wrong about communism died after USSR collapsed. It lives in China and China carries on the legacy that USSR have passed on. And others too such as North Korea, Vietnam and Cuba. Any country that is still communist today is paying respects to the USSR. Not something that a non-left wing sympathist would say but I speak here for the balanced world

The mistake they made was fighting in Afghanistan. That cost them dear and as a result they could not provide enough money to the states in the Union. Like the West, they could not walk into smaller countries and Rob their Wealth. So, they ended up disintegrating.

China hasn't been Communist for. since Mao died. Regardless of what China might CALL themselves, they are a Fascist, Nationalist state. They have little to no interest in economic egalitarianism, the keystone of Communist ideology. And haven't for ages.
