Screw Rockstar, man. They used to be a mark of quality games, like Rareware were at one point, but they threw all that away to milk shark cards and allow the release of these low-budget ports and updates to old games. All they've done is damage their brand, taking it from one which pretty much every gamer respected to one which is as likely to rip you off with trash as any other, just low effort crap and outsourced games. I tried the GTA remakes and the only one I found somewhat playable was SA. So disappointing to see them go this route, they sabotaged their own game with GTAO too with those Oppressors, it's as if they're deliberating trying fo make the brand less liked

consumers in the gaming space need to take more responsibility for their money. You're not going to order a burger and fries for $25 dollars before you show up to a restaurant and expect there to be lobster on it, so why do that for a game We KNEW this wasn't a remaster or remake, we KNEW it was just a port, so save yourself the bother. They know that a good portion of players are willing and able to pay the 50, sales will go down, and it'll be half that price by Christmas. Its a common sense business decision that will likely net them twice the profit. Its just a couple months chill out.

I have no words to explain how dissapointed I am by this decision. RDR is apart from a techincal and graphical aspect superior to RDR2, and given the ground work of RDR in RDR2, they could have made this a game to remember for YEARS (like the game was remembered for years for its time period, just like RDR2 will be. Instead, this game will eventually die out, because nostalgia can only carry so much. What a way to honour the original which perhaps for all we know, may have created an entirely new IP for rockstar in the years to come (rumoured RDR3 with sadie and so on. Shame

I absolutly can't stand the horse riding in this port. They did nothing to implement proper WASD controls for horse movement and constantly having to spam shift while making small adjustments by tapping A or D makes the horse animation break and it begins to look janky, just janky enough to be noticable and really annoying. If you plan on playing with a controller then you'll be happy but be warned: this game feels weird with keyboard mouse.

I defintely jumped the gun and payed the $50 (really $40 shoutout GMG) but I was so excited cause I just finished playing RDR2 for the first time in July and wanted to play RDR1 but didn’t have a console, but yeah, I definitely should have waited, but I’m enjoying it, and playing Undead Nightmare for the first time when I used to be scared of the thought of it when I was 12 years old has been fun!

I own this on Xbox 360 AND PS5 and the only reason I got it on PS5 was because of how buggy(360 port) Undead was, I couldn't play it. Everyone had no heads no matter what I did.
That being said, I gave them my money and enough times and won't buy this for PC.
I am not saying I DON'T have it for PC, I am just not going to buy it again until it goes on sale for like, 9$USD

[Edit: I was wrong, so very wrong. ] I hate being that guy, but Ross isn't part of the FBI or an agency that is essentially the FBI. He's an agent of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, a real work agency that still exists today. They were fairly notorious back then, especially for doing things like union busting. They are not a stand-in for the FBI. [Edit: I was wrong. ]

I can tell rockstar didn't bother to upgrade the textures properly and instead they used the good old sharpening filter method. If you took the original version and used DLDSR upscale with reshade for extra sharpening on it, i'm pretty sure it would look very close to this 'enhanced' pc version, if not better and more natural.

A perfect review I've been waiting for
The day has come it's finally on pc!
I am definitely gonna wait till it's on a sale just like the rest of the PlayStation ports
I've never played this one so its so fresh for me
Hopefully the uncharted series port
That's why I haven't played uncharted 4 yet

Is he playing with a controller I can't tell if the prompts are the same as they were on console because of that or if it's the same situation as with the Horizon Zero Dawn port, where before the first patches some of the prompts and the loading screen tips were telling you to press TRIANGLE for example.

Is it worth getting on PC Short answer is no. If it was 10 bucks or less, than maybe yes. Also, the minimum system requirements for Red Dead Redemption 1 are slightly more advanced than the system requirements for Red Dead Redemption 2. So no it is not worth it on PC. Get it on PS3 or XBOX 360.

At least twice Falcon is like idk why John doesn't just blast everyone or it's inexplicable why he decides to help any of these folk as though REDEMPTION and John's desire to be a better man than he was, and his struggle to fulfill that on his journey are context he doesn't posses.

Despite RDR 2 being superior in almost every way, I'd still like to say the first one has an atmosphere that I've never experienced in any other game.
How they did this, I don't know, but as soon as the menu comes up, this game just grabs you by the balls and doesn't let go.

Bro the entire comment section is talking about 50$ for 14 years old game First of all why how old the game has anything to do with the price tag If the game is a masterpiece it doesn’t matter, I agree it’s a bit overpriced but discounts exist no need to be such cry babies

IF this was were more like $29. 99, I would have snapped it up on DAY ONE. But, I'm not sure $50 is a good price tag for something that old which isn't remade or remastered. But, I do want to buy it, and I will wait until it gets into $30's, then I will still jump on it.

Stop whining. This story is the second part of RDR2 (We had only the prequel) and you buy and play it for the story. Soon the price will be lowered and you may get it in 6 months for 30 bucks at a reseller shop. If you want cheap and crappy games play on your smartphone.

Regarding the visuals: if you slap ReShade on that, get some AO and Global Illumination shaders and you can get that looking _gorgeous_ at 1440p. I do it all the time with old games and it makes such a difference! (only takes a few minutes & really easy to set up)

Having never played it on console, and so having never paid for it at all, I'm totally fine with the price because it's still a new game to me. I also agree it's better that it's a solid vanilla port and not a failed attempt to upscale it. Mods can fix the graphics.

I know that the price is a problem. But i don't think it needed a remake. Look what modders have done to game's like Skyrim and Fallout. After completing RDR2 on PS4 and PC. Im going to play this for the first time. So I will be buying it and definitely mod it.

This game was better than Rdr2 in most ways. I enjoyed Rdr2 but it was very self indulgent and the slowed realism killed my enjoyment of casual play. I did not find the story profound, and struggled to empathyse with the selective morality of a murderous gang
