Good recipe. Was given by a customer a recipe handed down by her great great grandmother. A authentic Polvoron cookie made with lard. That's what give that authentic flavor with little bit of anise. but I'll go ahead n try your recipe. They look delicious with a nice hot cup of Mexican chocolate!

Thank You Angelica! I've been looking for a recipe for Pan de Polvo for the longest time. My grandmother would make this every Christmas. After she died, I was unable to find her recipe. All I remembered was that she used a tea of anise and about 2-cups of flour. I don't remember if butter or lard.

I just happened to have a new jar of leaf lard (pork) and never used it for baking, so we are literally whipping these up RIGHT NOW. I didnt have anise seeds for cooking but did have some from an noGMO herb planting kit and am grounding them. I'll write back w the results. So excited. Thanks
