Today my family wanted to have afternoon tea and requested scones. I am making homemade scones topped with cream, strawberry jam and fresh sliced strawberries. These scones are inspired by one of my favorite BBC t. v. series Father Brown. If you are familiar with the series, then you probably know of Mrs. McCarthy's award winning strawberry scones. Ingredients 2 1/2 cups (325 g) all purpose flour 2 Tbsp (20 g) sugar 2 tsp (8 g) baking powder 1 tsp (5 g) salt 5 Tbsp (71 g) cold unsalted butter 1 cold large egg 1/2 cup (118 ml) whole milk (I used low fat butter milk) 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional) 1 large egg (for the egg wash) BAKE 355 F / 180 C for 15 to 20 minutes

No way was your dough thickness at 1 1/2 inches. It looked to be 5/8-3/4 inch thick at most. Not being critical, but viewers might think it has to be 1 1/2 inches, which is way too thick before baking. I think they looked about that thick after baking. Never had scones before, but they look good and I will be baking some in the near future. Thank you.

Now I'm craving for scones. They are so juicy. Normally I dont eat scones cause it's too dry but this is making my mouth water
