2 Weeks In Bangkok eBook (its FREE): On Day 4 of this 2 Weeks In Bangkok video guide series we went to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, which is one of my favorite floating markets in Bangkok - for the food and atmosphere. 00: 37 Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market ) - When it comes to floating markets in Bangkok, and there are quite a few of them, Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market ) is one of my personal favorites. I love it for the variety and abundance of delicious food, and for the great lush and green atmosphere. Even though its still located in Bangkok, the market feels like youre far removed, and it doesnt feel like youre so close to the city. There is a lot of delicious food to eat at the floating market, but one of my favorite things to eat, and something you shouldnt miss either, is pla chon pao, which is a grilled snakehead fish. Despite it looking a little on the scary side, its really an awesome fish, similar in taste to a catfish, but more meaty and not quite as rubbery. It was a really good snakehead fish at the floating market this time - cooked so it was nice and moist. We also ate a plate of goong ob woon sen, another excellent Thai seafood dish of mung bean noodles and big freshwater shrimp cooked in a personal pot. After having lunch at the floating market, we then decided to take a boat ride tour, which just costs 50 THB per person, which is a great deal. The boat ride tour was actually quite entertaining and was definitely worth it. If you go to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Id highly recommend the boat tour along with all the delicious food. 16: 35 Dinner at Saw Nah Wang ( ) - After getting back to our hotel near Khao San road, we took a little rest and then headed out for dinner to a restaurant called Saw Nah Wang (. The main dish to eat at this restaurant is pad mee krached ruam, stir fried rice noodles with water mimosa. They make it so well, and its always delicious - especially if you like stir fried noodles, its a great dish. 16: 34 Saphan Phut Market ) - After going to the floating market in the morning, we decided to continue the Bangkok markets at night and we headed to Saphan Phut Market, which is a Thai youth clothing and hang out market. The market is always lively at night, and tonight was no different. Theres not a lot to do there, but if youre interested in Thai youth culture, its a good place to visit. 21: 00 Pak Khlong Talad ) - Known in Thai as Pak Khlong Talad, or as the flower market Bangkok, its a giant flower distribution market thats open 24 hours a day in Bangkok. But the best time to go is at night, and even the best time in around midnight to 3 am or so when the market is at its busiest. We got there around 10 pm and there were still plenty of flowers to see, and it was a good last stop of the night. Day 4, visiting Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market ) and eating the snakehead fish, as well as visiting a few other local markets in Bangkok, was another fun day in Bangkok

Mark your videos are great and i am a big fan of your blogs. I recently visit thailand and been to that city. I am sorry to say that i didn't like their salad and coffee. Also the people weren't nice either, my girlfriend and i were told by a boat guy to take a different boat because we aren't thailander and not welcomed there. I was dissapointed and told my girl to take the other boat and endure the local's critisism the whole ride. Actually we were at the restaurant nearby and got deciled to eat because we don't know how speak thier language. Upon ordering thier food i remember the crew making gestures of like' ignorant two because they can't order properly. It was so unpleasant being critized like that. I don't want to experience that ever again.

the progression of mark's videos is amazing, if you watch his earlier work with migrationology and his latest videos it is like night and day and in a good way. you can see mark started from the bottom and with passion and learning about vlogging and video editing etc, progressed to making some of the best food vlogs on the net and with a genuine feel, not fake or over excited and acting all giddy, just real genuine spots and street food and real reactions to food the world over. what a great episode this was, funny how napkins arent a neccessity in thailand, lol but the food is amazing and for the price. thanks for the videos mark and cheers

Hi Mark Very nice video as always. I like that your videos are not just about the food but they also are informative about the place you are at, things to do etc all in a very casual and chill vibe I was wondering what is the music that plays at the end of all your videos? In this video, it starts at about 22: 24 and goes on till the end. Thanks

O and our Odyssey Tour had us visiting The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. I was concerned since we have such little time in Bangkok that it was too influenced by tourists. After seeing your video we are changing our itinerary to visit The Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market for a more authentic experience. THANK YOU

Hey Mark, I just simply love your videos, all are infinitely cool. I'm from Mumbai and planning for a family trip to Bangkok in October'17 (for the very first time. So would it be a good time to visit Thailand during that phase? Coz I have heard that it's still Monsoon there. Please advise and help Thanks

Incredibly, You may be Thai person in previous life. You can eat everything much more than I who is real Thai. Anyway, I remember your happy face eating anything all around. That make me feel more appetite. By the way, you and your wife is sweet couple.

3: 53 I spot bamboo shoots in one of the dishes That is what makes me weary of being 'food adventurous' in Thailand. They throw in bamboo shoots and I am allergic to themI usually just stick to what I know. 'Khao pad moo'. LOL TBH quite sad really.
