Here's a challenge to all Chicken Rice lovers - try one where the chef expertly de-bone the chicken parts before chopping it into bite sizes. Its not commonly done nowadays either due to time constraints or simply lack of skill, but chicken thigh bones are notoriously brittle and tend to shatter causing little shards of bone in the meat. The de-boned version, in my humble opinion is an experience in itself.

I lived in Singapore for a year. IMO chicken rice is basic and bland. Steamed/boiledchicken and plain white rice with chili to add flavor. If you go there do yourself a favor and get the chili crab and a beer (my favorite) or beef and onion with ikan bilis with kimchi on a sizzling skillet. The fried dori with fries and chili sauce (basically a spicy katchup) is also a great lunch.

Dear Mark and Yin. I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. I love the positivity that comes across, and I thank you both for all your efforts. We lost our son, Jordan, aged 20, five years ago from suicide, and your videos really help me remain positive. It's difficult, but people travelling and expericing wonderful food is incredibly healing. Thank you so, so much. Errol.

To me eating chicken rice is all about the rice. The chicken is nothing special, but you can tell whether it is authentic or not by the rice. Some people put butter and ginger into it and only the really good ones have the taste of stock, ginger and garlic in it. Dumping so much chili onto that was just so sad to watch. Do you even taste the rice at all?

In Indonesia we usually eat Hainan rice with roast pork, duck(sometimes, chasiu, and other roast meat. For me the soup is the worst (our hainan rice soup) but you can make your own anyway (not in restaurant) and basically for me you can also add any meat you want. We use kampung chicken or any other free range chicken and other than that people wont buy it

In the main, Asian food in the UK is expensive and it is crap. Tampopo no thank you etc etc. Please realise many of us have been to Asia and know what good Asian food is like and how much it should cost. Australia has good cheap food in shopping malls. UK shopping malls have rubbish fast food which is expensive.

the head tilt is not natural, it is an act thats been used for dramatic purposes. and it is used too much it become stale and boring. you even forgot to tilt on one video and the tilt come too late since it is not your natural reaction. 8: 05 and 9: 15 both showed your natural reaction. not this 'head tilt' BS

Daniel you are the tru gem to the world of Chicken rice. I just love chicken rice. But Daniel we must not forget the best Chicken Rice comes from Ipoh with the Towgay. I have to make a detour to Ipoh just to have my fix of Cowan Street Chicken Rice. Now the owner tells me he closes from Monday to Wednesday

Our family lived in Singapore for 25 years. My husband perfected Hainanese Chicken Rice (boiled) with all the fixings. It took many efforts to get it right. Your facial expression when tasting the boiled chicken rice is just what my Husband looks for when our guests eat his. loke your show
