Potting Wire Vine, Making a Festive Succulent Arrangement & Moving the Lemon Cypress! Sherilyn: Wire vine. should be called Contrary vine lol. I love it but in my 9b the leaves don't get as big and green until fall and winter (just when its choking out my other full grown plants. Mine was so fantastic and huge after a year, but simply had to remove it. I had to EXTRACT it from my poor honeysuckle. WV then came back over and over. after 3 years I think its finally done. For me in 9b it tends to play best on its own trellis and no sharing space.

Like you, I live in a zone 6 area that was changed from a zone 5 in northern Indiana. I grow the wire vine as a perennial in the ground. It is semi-evergreen and has survived temps between -15 and -20. Maybe you could experiment and plant a few in ground and see how they grow. It is an excellent fine texture ground cover. Love the videos and Russell is a gardening expert.

I want a lemon cypress SO BAD, but. No luck. I just got another recently and in no time at all, it looks awful. I've seen your video on the lemon cypress (and I'm going to watch it again. I just can't seem to get things right with them, inside. It is now a matter of pride. I'm going to figure it out! Thanks so much for all the great info you provide.

When cutting the top of the succulent off to use in arrangements, what do you typically do with the remaining stem that's already planted?
If left alone will the start sprouting new growth and create another plant? Or is it essentially dead in the water?

I've had creeping wire vine in my zone 6 Massachusetts garden come back year after year without any issues. Its deciduous and I give it a trim in spring so it doesn't creep all over neighboring plants.

Russell outdid himself today! My cats were the same way - I could put fresh water in their water bowl, but the minute Id fill the watering can, there they were drinking in it. Ive always wondered why.

We have an orange cat named Michael & he loves to watch what were doing and help, just like Russel. I think Michael would love to hang out and do more exciting things with a 10 year old boy,
