Planting Up a Large Courtyard at Our Local Community College! Garden Answer Rocky: I love learning from as you learn when you do projects like this. And what a project! I thought last year's plantings at the community college were beautiful. You have surpassed last year! Love the tropical vibe, but with the cooling pinks and blues. It looks wonderful already and will be amazing as the season progresses. What a gift you are to your community! The list of your other community projects you mentioned show how you do SO much for so MANY! I can tell you love helping other people. This year I took on a project of helping a widow in our neighborhood with her front flower bed (with her permission, of course. With the manpower of my son and husband, we took out an overgrown Pfitzer, weeded, put down good soil, planted annuals around her perennials, added a few more perennials and topped it with black mulch. Her son had drip irrigation in place. She is thrilled! The positive effect of having beautiful flowers around us is real! I never would have had the idea, know how or confidence to take on that project if I hadn't been watching and learning from you. You help people know how to help other people. Just wanted you to know that your influence for good goes far beyond Ontario, Oregon.

I'm having a hard time finding grasses this year. I wanted to buy Vertigo but I can't find it in my area. The local nursery I go to is not happy about having to buy proven winners white pots because they are more expensive than the plain pots they typically buy so I'm not sure if that's why? Maybe they're not going to buy as much of a selection from them? I saw Walmart is now selling proven winners brand which wasn't the case in my area last year.

Just cant take the constant Proven Winners commercial. I bought 2 this year, cost $12. Had to go back to my seeds and pony packs. So Im going to take a little break from the thousands of dollars of bedding plants she gets to use. Its called Garden Answers. I know you all adore this but I prefer gardening shows I can relate to. Its all beautiful. Truly. Yes, theres a little bit of the green eyed monster in me: )

I love seeing all this colour. I just have a question though. All of these plants are going to fill up and color up the college campus uptill fall. But what does the college do for the spring semester? Do they plant few early blooming plants to provide colour during spring semester? I feel like most of these plants will grow during summer break and it's a shame that less people will be enjoying it.

Is this a paid job or do you donate all this? Does Proven Winners provide them for free and you do free labor? The cost for a regular person would be hundreds of dollars. Beautiful job as always.
Oh and can you imagine Samantha walking around there as a student 17 years from now?

Its funny to hear you say its fun to plant with other people, since youve always said you prefer to do projects alone. I guess it helps to do them with a good friend. I like the choices you made on the selection of plants. Good work everyone!

Hi Laura, have you ever considered getting a van for bigger projects like this? You'd be able to load up a lot more plants and would be handy for your antique trips with your mum so you can bring home more treasures!
