How Is This STILL Happening! Bretman Rock, Operation Gridlock & MORE Stimulus Check Problems Loryn: Definitely still having issues with the IRS portal. Been locked out for 2 days now because of technical difficulties on the site. I was not put in to a waiting room, but just used up one of my tries for the day and got no results. Ive seen people online speculating that this is happening primarily to people that had 0 refunds and there is no option for that on the page. I used H&R Block this year, DID put in my direct deposit info, but received a check for the little bit of state money I actually did get back. Wondering if Im one of the people with a dummy account for the service fee I had to pay to file premium? Either way Im very frustrated and dont know what to do other than keep trying.

As a Michigander, I am extremely ashamed of these people and do not want them to be what represents my state. Not all people are like them. While yes, Whitmer's orders have effected myself, I understand fully why these measures were put in place. Businesses in our area have stopped selling all non-essential items. So, it makes it a bit harder to stay entertained while at home, but at the same time, I understand. Too many people have gotten sick and additionally, as I work in a low-risk healthcare job, I am seeing the effects. Their risks will slow down this whole process of coming out of quarantine.

I'll just say that I'm from New Zealand but with the Michigan story this amazes me as we have been in lockdown for just under a month where we can only leave for 2 reasons essential items and once a day for daily exercise and only people working are essential services. Police are sending people home that they dont think should be out and they are fining, no protest here and we have not had a single day where there has been 100 or more new cases and we are lookong at coming out of lockdown and into level 3 staus (we have 4 levels that tell us what rules there are)

I've written three major research papers on the legality of states' stay at home orders. It is legal for states to temporarily suspend rights IF it is necessary for public safety. The U. S. Supreme Court has uphold this multiple times over history, Jacobson v. Massachusetts 1905 is one example. It determined that mass. law that required people to get vaccinated for the ongoing polio epidemic was constitutional even though it violated some rights. It was necessary for public safety. I know it sucks, but millions would die if we ignore COVID-19 and back to work.

OH NO PHIL! GUNS! Are you serious with that shit? Every time there is a law abiding gun owner protesting while armed >GASP< it the mainstream media and left of center independent media losing their minds and looking for someway to call them supremacists of some sort. The fact you called it a pseudo Trump rally should really tell you who Trump voters really are comprised of. WORKING CALLS PEOPLE. Not bigots. Not to mention it's the republicans (for all their faults) actually pushing to let people MAKE THEIR OWN CHOICES NOT THE GOVERNMENT MAKE IT FOR THEM.

The amount of people willing to give up their liberties for a feeling of safety is staggering to me. The Bill of Rights insured certain inalienable rights in the Constitution and many people just thinking that it doesn't matter so we can say safe from a virus is insane. If the government can just take away those rights whenever there's an emergency, what's stopping them from using something we don't believe is an emergency as one? If the right to speak, gather, protest, or own firearms is for our own good then they mean nothing to begin with.

Left out of the show: It was a political rally. The protesters might have not knowingly participated. The original organizer was a concerned private citizen who reached out to his local state representative. Hopefully from there you can extrapolate how this rally got so big. Never underestimate the desire of a politician wanting your fear vote, especially in a purple state like Michigan. People in Michigan are economically hurting and their pain was harnessed for political survival. Edit: born, raised and never lived anywhere else but Michigan.

Americans really do amaze me. Like literally everyone else in the world is on lockdown as well, we want to leave, you dont see us complaining and stopping the productivity of our workforce who is still active. Because you need to realise the better you comply, the quicker you comply with stay at home orders, the quicker theyll be lifted. Like you guys are the worst in the world rn for cases and deaths and you think you can be leaving the house to protest? Not only endangering yourself but anyone you come in contact with after as well. Smh.

I have not received my stimulus check yet (my payment status is unavailable as of 6: 15 p. m. mountain time April 16) and the whole entire story of stimulus checks going awry is my nightmare. Some time ago when Trump fired the head watchdog that was in charge of overseeing the stimulus disbursement, I joked well, there goes my stimulus check. It was meant to be dark humor, but now (combined with the money for small business loans being used up) it's starting took like a messed-up prophecy. Stop the ride! I want to get off!
