Today I am making a Cuban-style picadillo inspired by the movie In The Heights, which premiered on HBO Max. This is a fun idea for Movie Night Eats. In the movie, Abuela Claudia has a pot of cooked picadillo on her stovetop that looked amazing, so I had to recreate it. Ingredients 1 1/2 Tbsp (22 ml) cooking oil 1 lb (454 g) lean ground beef 1 small onion 1/2 green bell pepper 2 cloves garlic 2 tsp paprika 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper 1 Tbsp (16 g) 2/3 cup (158 ml) low sodium beef broth 1/4 cup (60 ml) white wine 10 small olives with pimentos 1/4 cup raisins (optional) salt and pepper to taste Gidget13mwa: I love Piccadillo! I put cinnamon in it and craisins. Wish I had a bowl right now. With leftovers I make not an authentic empanada but in pie crust and bake them!

You guys look so cute and cozy on the sofa I've ALWAYS wondered what was picadillo. I'm too wimpy to put raisins or olives for my palette if I were to try making it, but if YOU brought me a plate like that I WOULD EAT every bite lol!

I love picadillo. My mother inlaw is Mexican American and my wife's step dad is Cubano. This is one of her dishes she makes for him. With a Mexican taste she serves fresh salsa as a condiment. Mmmmm

I love your videos I would be curious to find out what kind of camera mount do you use to do the first person view? I would love to have something like this for my kids and family trips

I'll give this a try, it looks delicious. I've never ate plantains. So do you just slice them thin and fry in a little oil? They sure do look good! Thanks for sharing.
