WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO 100 REPS. You Build Muscle David: I am not nearly as big as you, with that said, I have paid for you training and use it in my own way. I have some wrist, elbow and shoulder issue, specially in my right arm. I have found a great arm day. I can't curl straight up at 20 lbs. To much pain. So I do 15 lbs bent curl until failure. For me about 25-30, go into drag curls until failure about 15-10. Drop to 10 lbs, same thing. Drop to 8 lbs same thing, and drop to 5 lbs same thing. Rep 1. Next set. 30 to 60 seconds rest. Reverse curls with 4 second drop. Same drops. The end of my real first set. Try to finish 3 sets. Doesn't always happen. Triceps are similar with the bench set of three you do in your garage program. Adding in drop backs usually with little to no weight.

My favorite part of this video is when Ryan says -Remember, this is supposed to be a horrible experience. - Best thing I learned from this man is our muscles don-t grow because we lift weights. They grow because we work them. Our muscles don-t know if we-re curling 30lbs or 50lbs but they do know when we-re doing a 30lb slow tempo curl with a pause at the top and squeezing the biceps they better adapt to succeed vs using your whole body to curl 50lb dumbbells. That not what they meant when they said a fully body workout.

I somehow accidentally stumbled on your videos and your way of putting thing has relight a lost fire under me. I-m eating healthy and meal prepping for the first time. I got a gym membership again after not going in over a year and last night I worked every body part to complete failure. I-m definitely feeling it today and in a sick way I-m kind of enjoying it. Today I have to think about walking because I want to physically drag my feet because they feel so heavy. What do you do for stretching before and after a workout?

Years ago, I did 100s and 120s for every muscle group 4-5x per week as a way to train for mountaineering school. It was an amazing way to train, physically and mentally. One thing I remember learning about 100s is that (for me) the pain only got to a certain level and more or less stayed there for the duration. it was bad, but didn't get worse and worse all the way out, it was a matter of grinding it out at that pain level.

High reps is hard work and will burn too many calories it-s great for getting lean but mass and raw power is built with heavier low reps. One way to look at it is if you can do 100 reps than it-s not heavy enough put some more weight on there. At least this is how size works but if size isn-t your goal maybe you-re a cross fit guy and are looking for more endurance in that case yeah rep the hell out of it.

Man I really appreciate your videos. I have been on a fitness journey. Lost 60 pounds, I want to put on some muscle. I just signed up a trainer because I don-t know what I am doing. Your videos have been a big help to get me the right direction. I will be buying your program once I have finished the 3 months I signed up for with this trainer because I want to kick my own ass. Thanks you

No offense but holistic weight training has been around since the early eighties. We all have slow, intermediate and fast twitch muscle fibers. If you have always been concentrating on mostly slow twitch and start focusing on the intermediate and fast twitch, of course your going to see some results. There used to be a body building chart on how to train like this.

Rich Piana had something similar called Feeder Workouts. The Arm workout was take a 10lb dumbbell. get on your knees (to keep them strict) and do 60 Hammer Curls. then lay on back and do 100 skull crushers. then right back to Hammers. back to skull crushers. do it 3 times. PUMP is PHENOMENAL. I was sore for a week 1st time I did it

Question. I've heard that the best way to gain solid muscle mass is:
1-By lifting a weight that you can handle(proper form & posture) and doing a set with the many repetitions as possible -Start counting after it hurts-.
2-Doing a set lifting as heavy as possible with little repetition.
So wich one is better?

I did my first hundred reps. I collapsed into the fetal position, spewed up and shit myself at the same time in a full gym. But my proudest moment came when I couldn-t get up to regain some dignity and go to the locker room to clean up, so I just continued to lay in my own hot mess cry and suck my thumb. Gains suck.
